Highland Creek Village[edit]

Highland Creek is also a Village! in that it has a Main Street, some cross streets, and a traffic light!

Its inhabitants come in from the weeks work' in the fields to fill up the tractor with fuel, to go to th market for groceries, and to Sip a cup of coffee outside the Village bakery, when the weather is nice.

It has a post office and its own zip or postal code, plus it has its own festival every year in the 2nd saturday in June, that has been running continuously since 1985. See pictures of festival events here

Disambiguation Needed[edit]

There are two entities named "Highland Creek".

One is the branch watercourse that runs through Scarborough, the other is the Unincorprated Enclave of Scarborough that is also a Neighborhood in its own right.

The Neighborhood was created as part of the Highway Carriage trade and has been around since the 1880's, additional historical information is being researched. Richard416282 06:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate page (merger proposal)[edit]

Highland Creek (Lake Ontario) was recently created. It is a duplicate of this page with some additions. There is no need for two articles. Furthermore there is no need to move it to a sub-designation because there is no other Highland Creek article. EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 11:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The pre-existing "Highland Creek" article treats a river and a place, which should be properly treated in two separate articles. In addition, when researching the river on the Atlas of Canada, I discovered several Highland Creeks just in the province of Ontario alone. Thus, I created the new article with the sub-designation "Lake Ontario", porting old information from "Highland Creek" and adding in the results of new research. It is my intention to create a new article about the place, perhaps as "Highland Creek, Toronto"; and to change the pre-existing article "Highland Creek" into a disambiguation page, in which one would reference the new articles, including the place, and the other Highland Creeks discovered in Ontario. All this would obviously mean not merging this new article back in. I just haven't gotten around to the additional changes yet. My fault as it has clearly caused some confusion. Any other comments or suggestions welcomed. papageno (talk) 06:45, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the mergefrom proposal and made this a disambiguation page. The existing content has been separated into Highland Creek (Lake Ontario) for the river, and Highland Creek, Toronto for the community. papageno (talk) 20:29, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
