Members...?[edit]

I've been watching this page for a while, and every time a members section is introduced, it gets removed. Is there a reason that this specific K-pop related page cannot have a members section? SKS (talk) 07:21, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The member section is filled with trivial information and is unsourced or poorly sourced. That is mostly the main reason it keeps getting removed. MS (Talk|Contributions) 03:01, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a sourced members section. I admit that some of it is bordering on trivia, but it's all reliably sourced. SKS (talk) 06:14, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral Point of View[edit]

This article is written like an advert, and indeed looks more like a fan page, which is not acceptable by Wikipedia's standards. I will remove comments that are not neutral in view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imaginazn (talkcontribs) 03:31, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Imaginazn (talk) 10:23, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hi, in what way do you think its a fan page and whatsoever? I did refer to wiki pages such as dbsk and others famous bands do handle these wiki, and most of the time, it comes along with a reference to support it and that, i only added what they got for their award , when`s the albums released, their shows and etc, thats all, in what way is it wrong? Nicky456 (talk) 06:12, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sentences like "This proves BEAST's formidable popularity." aren't exactly neutral. SKS (talk) 06:52, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly what SKS says. I don't know if it's your own additions to the page, or other people's but comments like "This proves BEAST's formidable popularity" are not neutral, it's biased.Imaginazn (talk) 10:23, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah that, LOL okay, please list down all errors, and I will edit them one by one :) I normally just copied and paste the main point from english translated sites with reference , thats it. okay, so by editing those, I can removed the 1st tag you given to beast articles :)? Nicky456 (talk) 12:55, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I already deleted what wasn't neutral, and fixed some other errors (use of tense, grammar etc). I think the main issue is that you need to know that just because a statement is sourced, does not mean it is appropriate for Wikipedia. News articles can be biased themselves, so you just need to recognise what you should put in BEAST's article, and what isn't needed. :D Imaginazn (talk) 00:10, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So "This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page. It needs additional references or sources for verification. Tagged since December 2010. It may require general cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. Tagged since December 2010." can be deleted already :O? As in removed.

Thanks for your help by the way Nicky456 (talk) 01:58, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. You should remove the twitter links though in External Links, because i added MBLAQ's twitters and they all got removed because of this " links normally to be avoided ". The tags can be removed. If a Wiki admin finds that the tags need to be there, then they'll put it back up :) Merry Christmas! Imaginazn (talk) 02:20, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm.. those links are official as in, its all in beast daum cafe no? So it should be no problem, but if it does get removed, let it be removed then XD I never mess around with most of the stuffs other than adding in facts and yeah... though.. Im kinda having a big problem right now... is digital album (my story) considered as an album by itself? I kinda dont know how to deal with it O_O" hahs. Thanks ya~ Nicky456 (talk) 03:08, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hrm, not sure if a digital album is the same as a physical album. I personally don't see what's wrong with adding a digital album. I mean, it's still an album right? I guess you could just add it, but mention that it's digital? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imaginazn (talkcontribs) 05:25, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Overhaul[edit]

This entire article needs a major copy-edit. I started with the first few section and I'll try and get around to the rest when I can; if anyone else sees areas of improvement please jump in as well! Thanks.--Wikipage08 (talk) 10:11, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Hyun Seung be merge into Beast (South Korean band) as the former article lack sources, does not mention any solo activities away from that of his band, and is bias. Merging the two would not cause any significance loss as the Hyung Seung article mention only pre-debut activities, which is irreverent to his article as a whole seeing how he has been active for two years now. I thought at first of deleting the Hyun Seung article and even voiced my opinion on its own talk page but no one answered. What do you guys think? AhnSoonKyung (talk) 07:09, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am assuming Hyun-seung's solo wikipedia page was indeed removed as it was unavailable a month ago. This made him the only member of the group without his own page. At the time this was justified for the reasons above, but he has know debuted in a subunit separate from Beast. He has had a lot of media coverage in his own right for this, so I have since recreated the Jang Hyun-seung page and covered his separate activities there. Doojoon Member Profile[edit]

"Doojoon worked with The Bitch Who Is Now Getting Some Raptor-action on an ad for premium jeans brand, Buckaroo"? As in, Shin Se Kyung?

I think some random people who hate shin se kyung edited it :O! Nicky456 (talk) 15:18, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Members Profile[edit]

Uhmm.. I suggest the members profile section should be changed into a prose form instead of the current style. Just like in the SHINee and 2PM articles. I think it's better that way. What do you guys think?--Mightysetout (talk) 04:40, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Doing it since nobody replied. Feel free to edit it though. ^^--Mightysetout (talk) 05:48, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some people have remove the whole members section already :O Seriously I gave up cleaning up the members section since it's always the first thing people edit it. And it is getting annoying =/ Nicky456 (talk) 15:20, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The members section should just consist the list of members. I am referring to List of names with no more trivial information like birthdays, positions, blood types et cetera. jmarkfrancia (talk) 12:11, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In what way, is this article fan biased?[edit]

I aim to keep this page as an informative site wherever possible. & By informative, I do credit my sources to reliable sites.. Nicky456 (talk) 15:26, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please can you at least change the profile picture to a most recent picture of Beast from the present? instead of keeping the picture from 2010. Thank You 67.84.57.232 (talk) 08:03, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rename to highlight?[edit]

With the breaking news that Beast will re-debut as a new group under the name of Highlight and with the news of Cube retaining the name Beast for a 3 member group, should we rename BEAST's wikipedia pages as Highlight or create a entirely new series of pages for Highlight and keep the BEAST pages for the new 3-member Beast group? --Alicia leo86 (talk) 09:26, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that the history of BEAST should be kept on Highlight's page, and it isn't confirmed whether BEAST will be a 3 member group when Hyunseung (who is supposedly going to rejoin the group) didn't know of the news when it broke. I suggest we keep it status quo until there is more news about the 3 member group. --Mentaikoz (talk) 10:03, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So a rename/move to Highlight (band) it is then? AS it stands we'd have to rename Beast (South Korean band), Beast discography and List of awards and nominations received by Beast to Highlight then, and edit the content somewhat to update it to the new brandname. --Alicia leo86 (talk) 10:14, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this entire article on the 2009 formed Beast should be moved to Highlight (band), and that if Cube are to debut a new group under the same name, it should be an entirely new article surrounding that group, while of course mentioning the previous as fits. Primarily I think that 2009 Beast and the possibiity of a future Beast should be considered completely different bands, just with the pass down of the name. Abdotorg (talk) 19:33, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

But Jang Hyun-seung is not Highlight's past member. Beast formed by Cube ent, but Highlight formed by Around Us. Countles (talk) 13:44, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Similarly case with JYJ or TVXQ. -- Countles (talk) 13:46, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies with my changes without proper discussion. You make some sense, but Mentaikoz also does... If we DO change Beast's pages to say Highlight, we could easily just say Hyunseung is a former Beast member of the former group? But TVXQ didn't reform as JYJ? Alicia leo86 (talk) 13:57, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
JYJ and TVXQ are different because three members left the group and the agency and formed a new group under another agency. With Beast, first Hyunseung left the group, which continued briefly as five under the same agency then left and formed their own agency, after which Hyunseung renewed his contract. In any case, only the name Highlight is new; the group is the very same that left Cube, the new agency didn't form a new group but just took them in so to speak and were forced to give them a new name as Cube still owns the rights to their previous name. I hope that makes it clear why Hyunseung IS Highlight's former member—because Highlight is not a new group but simply Beast with a name change.

As for Cube continuing to use the name in the future, whether Hyunseung is ever part of the lineup or not, it should probably get its own, separate article, or a section in Highlight's article if/when the group is not notable enough to have one. I can't really think of a case like this one but my opinion is that Beast is now well known for the members that it once comprised and their songs, most of which were composed by Junhyung after a few years (even if by my understanding their biggest hits were not his compositions), so I would say the history of that Beast should be in Highlight's article. In short, move the article to Highlight (band) and change the name where it's due and if a new lineup of Beast ever debuts give it its own article or a mention in this one. 177.189.41.72 (talk) 21:30, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the above comments from the IP, Abdotorg and Mentaikoz.. It's pretty much how Dream Catcher (band) rebranded and redebuted from their former name Minx or BP Rania renamed from Rania.--Alicia leo86 (talk) 04:25, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just checking in to say that this article has been moved to Highlight(South Korean band) instead of Highlight (South Korean band), I am assuming that this is a mistake? Abdotorg (talk) 14:54, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is, it will need an admin help to move the page back since its impossible now due to redirects, will post a technical request for move. Snowflake91 (talk) 18:24, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why wasn't it moved to Highlight (band)? Also, other pages need to be moved: Beast discography to Highlight discography; List of awards and nominations received by Beast to List of awards and nominations received by Highlight; and Around US Entertainment should be Around Us Entertainment—they merely stylized the word us in all caps. 177.189.41.72 (talk) 22:23, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
