Questionable "International" status?[edit]

Is Hilo really an international airport? Does it serve any commercial flights from outside the United States of America? DouglasHeld (talk) 18:13, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disasters[edit]

What is the purpose of this section? It would be better placed in civil air incidents. LorenzoB (talk) 20:28, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Top Destinations[edit]

Should we remove SFO from top destinations since United Airlines has ceased the service Travisn917 (talk) 23:21, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not if the service was operated during the covered period. Keep in mind that the statistics tables represent a snapshot of time as listed in the table header, so airlines and destinations need to stay even if the airline or route was later removed. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 16:33, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

elephant in the room - Kona Airport stole Hilo's traffic[edit]

I'm surprised there isn't more mention of Kona Airport in this article. The fact that Hilo's overseas traffic peaked the year after Kona opened, stagnated and then started declining soon thereafter, and is now less than half Kona's total, is notable. The far superior weather at Kona versus Hilo is no doubt a major factor, but I'm a little too lazy to actually do the necessary research to back that. But, for anyone looking for a project, there's a suggestion... Famartin (talk) 23:14, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

“International” airport[edit]

What’s international about Hilo’s airport? I don’t see any international flights. Not even flights outside of Hawaii. דולב חולב (talk) 04:34, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Read the history section. It had overseas flights in 1970s.PAper GOL (talk) 21:42, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
