about birthday[edit]

zee news says himesh birthday is 23 july.but wiki says 11 may who,s correct?

Section titles[edit]

Section titles needs to be wikified. right now they are not looking encyclopedic at all.

Hi there, my name as a HR fan is diehardHRfanatic. My Music Review Analysis section where I mentioned my website and orkut community link was deleted.

I would like the deleted section to be reconsidered or need advice by Administrators on how I can successfully mention links in the right places.

The basis of my appeal is that My music reviews are not just a biased point of view. I have analyzed each and every second of all his songs since his debut till date. I have described all his music arrangement, orchestration, beat effects, singing styles etc that display a maximum knowledge and understanding of his music to the best of my ability.

So may I politely ask that what is the point of breaking down his music to its very core elements in order to display the greatness of this musician, if I cannot contribute here so it can be of some use / help to those HR fans who haven't heard all his compositions till date or newer fans that he is acquiring by the day!

My recent edits[edit]

I thought I ought to explain the severe amount of culling I've just done on the article; after I was brought here when a user attempted to create a picture gallery article for this person.

I removed the Fan Club section as it was full of peacock terms and encyclopaedic. I removed the samples section as the samples did not exist. The images used on the article were blatant copyright violations; taken from another site and as such have also been removed. I trimmed down the awards section so it just contains awards he has won; there was no need to have each award in a section of its own; it simply makes it too long. Not knowing the subject matter I have no idea which awards are actually notable or not; so I have not removed any. I removed the selected songs section because there was no indication of how they were selected, or how they were notable. As it stands, to my eye, the article is still full of too many lists; singers he was worked with, etc. Someone with knowledge may wish to address the lists; and trim them to purely notable collaborations. Clean-up and removed unsourced and personal reflection kinda info from article[edit]

Just did a clean-up. Am moving sections from the article to here. In case they get sourced at some point of time, they can be moved back. For now, they'll have to remain on the talk page.

Film stars like Sunil Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Aadesh Shrivastav, Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu, Aishwaraya Rai Bachchan, SRK, Salman Khan, Ermaan Hashmi, Rajpal Yadav, Kunal Kamao are also included in his fan list and they too admit the fact that he is a versatile Rockstar.

An editor requested for the article to be copy-edited. There are some issues with the article.

  • Is "Rock" Gharana the same as "Rock" gharana?
  • Please use double quotation marks. That is Wikipedia's style guide.
  • Who or what is "Aashiq Banaya Aapne"? Please state this in the article. Also, why are there quotation marks?
  • What is Rage and rage? Is there a difference? If so, state it clearly in article. Please check the meaning using a dictionary to see if meaning is correct.

  • No, Rock Gharana was a team of contestants in the music show SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2007, so it must be spelled with a capital G.
  • I agree, this article's tone and style is highly inappropriate at the moment.
  • Aashiq Banaya Aapne is a movie, title should be in italics.
  • Actually the word is 'rage' with a small r, meaning 'a current fashion or fad'. This is again another example of the inappropriate tone being used in the article.
  • Some parts of the article are written like a fan page. The neutrality must be checked as well.

A website to promote Himesh the pre-ABA composer[edit]

There is a website called www.himeshreshammiya-reviews.com which is no less than an encyclopedia for HR fans.

It has:

1. Complete and organized catalogue of HR's albums (filmography) with each and every song's title. 2. ALL pre-ABA songs since his debut till Aashiq Banaya Aapne can be viewed and heard in youtube embedded links. 3. New promos of his upcoming movies can be watched. 4. All his music arrangement, orchestration, beat effects, singing styles etc are described that display a maximum knowledge and understanding of his music.

Everyone knows HR after Aashiq Banaya Aapne, but how many existing fans have heard each n every pre-ABA song? And what about the new fans HR acquires by the day?

The purpose of this site is to promote HR the pre-ABA composer and to update all HR fans who haven't yet heard each n every HR song till date! It would save a lot of time, effort & frustration and allow fans to hear those songs that they never even knew about.

So why can't a site that would ensure that no HR fan would ever miss any HR song get a small mention over here? Tone[edit]

To the editor using the 117.204.... IP range: Statements such as

  • "he truly became the Rage of the nation" or
  • "his songs like 'Tera Suroor','Zara Jhoom Jhoom' and 'Tanhaiyan' became rage songs and created history as the people just could not stop listening to these songs"

are not written in the encyclopedic, formal tone that is expected in Wikipedia articles, see WP:TONE. Please do not remove the corresponding tag without addressing these concerns, as you did numerous times already (example).

Per WP:BLP and WP:BURDEN, statements such as personal details about his life (especially negative claims such as the one reinserted here by the editor using the 117.204.... IP range) or superlative claims such as

should be provided with a citation. Do not remove corresponding tags without addressing these concerns.

No, the apology is important because it is a statement about the actions which had caused the controversy. "Reconciling" doesn't contain the same information.
You don't need to worry about the numbering of citations, it is adjusted automatically when one inserts new ones. (See also Wikipedia:Citing sources)
Thanks for agreeing to provide the missing citations. Until then, we'll leave the warnings about missing references in place.
Please don't remove the "tone" tag without addressing the concerns, and don't reinsert the copyright violation (see above).
