There is no such thing called indigenous Tamils in Sri Lanka. All Tamils are indigenous to Tamilnadu.[edit]

When indigenous is used in the way it is done in this article, it refers to being native, i.e like the Veddas or the Sinhalese, which the Tamils are not. What is refered to as indigenous in your link to Google books is any group of people who were present prior to the arrival of the colonial rulers. Muslims are also regarded as indigenous in this context. http://www.google.lk/search?tbo=p&tbm=bks&q=Indigenous%2B+Muslims%2Blanka&num=10#hl=en&tbm=bks&sa=X&ei=Tu4HT-eeK5Gk4ASA_aDfBA&ved=0CCwQvwUoAQ&q=Indigenous+Muslims%2Blanka&spell=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=b9ff23eba98628ab&biw=1242&bih=735--SriSuren (talk) 07:07, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

muslims are indigenous Tamils, aren't they? nothing wrong.--MThekkumthala (talk) 16:55, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Civil conflict and exodus[edit]

The word "continues" should probably be "continue". The word "naval" means, roughly, "of the armed floating forces of a Government" and does not include ordinary civilian commercially-run or state-run transport; perhaps it should be reconsidered - "marine"? And "unaffected of" should be "unaffected by"? I am interested, but am not qualified to edit the Article. 94.30.84.71 (talk) 12:17, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
