Request To Change Picture[edit]

Hi All-- Just wondering if we can pick a new picture at the top of the page. In this one, he looks very much what I'd call an art student/city youth/hipster, and it's not a look he's had for his time in the spotlight. I realize we don't have to follow an artist's every change in fashion, but it might be better to go with something more like his album covers and music videos. Why does it say born in New York City?[edit]

Hello everyone- just curious why this says born in New York City. The "Born" section under background information says Plainview, NY, as do all other sources, which isn't located in New York City. Hoodie Allen (musician) → Hoodie Allen. There is only one Hoodie Allen, so no reason to make the musician distinction. Currently, the Hoodie Allen page has been protected from creation. Not sure why. Svernon19 (talk) 23:32, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment: The page was protected because this article used to be at Hoodie Allen but was twice deemed non-notable, in July 2010 and March 2011. It was then protected against recreation. Passive voice?[edit]

The name came about because Steven's nickname growing up was "Hoodie," and he wanted a name that "would stick in peoples' minds and be a little bit funny and representative of who I am" so a play off of famed filmmaker Woody Allen was settled on.

Is there a reason for passive voice in this sentence? I would like to change it to:

so he settled on a play off of famed filmmaker Woody Allen.
