Hooters Coined by Steve Martin?
The term "hooters" as applied to female breasts almost certainly predates anything on Saturday Night Live. The 1960's sitcoms Petticoat Junction and Green Acres were set in the town of Hooterville, and the opening credits on Petticoat Junction feature three young women bathing nude in the water tower. The Eva Gabor character on Green Acres called the town "Hootersville", and double entendres were rife in both shows. "Popularized" is a much safer term here than "coined".
