Synopsis from Studybreak.com

From my talk page: No other reliable source cite this specific synopsis, including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline Hollywood; neither does the film's webpage say anything. Googling "hotel transylvania 4 aliens" only brings up fan wikis and personal webpages, which are not reliable sources. I can only assume the author of the article stumbled upon one of these websites while looking for info about the film and thought it was legit. -Gouleg🛋️ (StalkHound) 15:24, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

I was contacted too, from my talk page, about this same situation. I agree with you Gouleg that the source is not reliable and was probably crafted by the IP editor who keeps forcing this "premise" on this page. Cardei012597 (talk) 15:35, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

Worth mentioning that another source popped up with another plot, I've looked up multiple keywords in google and they all redirect to this same source, however, it seems poorly written and doesn't have the characters' names capitalized, so I'd suggest to be on the lookout if someone adds this plot to the article. -Gouleg🛋️ (StalkHound) 19:08, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

I think these "plot summaries" were solely written by fans of the Hotel Transylvania franchise, rather than the studio, crew, or anyone directly involved with the Hollywood production. I added a hidden note on the page that basically says to not add a premise until August 2021, the release date. These plot summary edits are muddying up the edit history of this page. Cardei012597 (talk) 19:27, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

One of those IP editors also claimed that he was a “uncredited” co-writer, and even made a crudely-drawn picture of the film’s non-existent “villain”, which looks like a cross between Homer Simpson and Fred Flintstone. Urvy1A (talk) 20:27, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

The IP editor seems to have left this page alone, for the time being. If they do return to this page, I will be carefully watching their edits. Cardei012597 (talk) 20:29, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for keeping an eye out. Yeah, he left the page alone, but keep your guard up. At least we have a teaser trailer, and there are no alien invasions or Homer/Fred hybrids confirmed. By the time we head to July, more info will be featured and we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Urvy1A (talk) 01:20, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Brad Abrell

I've removed Abrell again from the cast listing after he was added back in again with no rationale. There is no point listing him in the cast when you're not listing who he is cast as. Fine to say he is in the film - which is why he's in the infobox and the lede, but until it's established who he plays, there's - literally - no place in the Cast section for him. The supplied source only says he's in the film, it makes no mention of any role. Chaheel Riens (talk) 21:48, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Ok, sounds fair. Cardei012597 (talk) 21:57, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
I found a reliable citation that states Brad Abrell will portray Frankenstein's monster in the film, replacing Kevin James from the first three films.[1] Cardei012597 (talk) 07:12, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

About The Rampant Vandalism

Something came up when mentioning the IP editor that vandalized the page. I looked up The Dreamstone page, and I saw in that page's history about similar vandalism. Like this page, the Dreamstone page had even more false information about a nonexistent movie, which thankfully was reverted. I believe there is a connection, as this very IP editor has a thing for making up unproven and nonexistent ideas did the same thing here and on the other page. I think the person also used an alternate IP address, the person could be using a VPN to continue making these edits. --Urvy1A (talk) 04:51, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

I am unable to block IP addresses, however there are administrators that may be able to do just that. Cardei012597 (talk) 04:56, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
At least it's something. Best to do right now is keep a watchful eye on things until the July release date, that way when that day comes, we don't have to worry.--Urvy1A (talk) 09:25, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Alright, it is something. Cardei012597 (talk) 18:00, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

The vandalism happened again! Thankfully, you guys took care of it. I think we need to protect this article for even more vandalism. That way, that vandal who doesn’t cite his sources won’t be able to make changes. Urvy1A (talk) 10:56, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

We need the assistance of administration to stop these vandalistic actions permanently. Cardei012597 (talk) 19:51, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
You should seek help over at WP:RFP, so an admin can properly lock the page to avoid further vandalizing and edit wars -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 20:39, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Alright, I made the request. Cardei012597 (talk) 20:44, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Dracula's Role

I noticed on the cast list that Brian Hull, the voice actor for Dracula, is located near the bottom of the list rather than the top. Does this signify that Dracula will have a less major role in this film than he did in the previous films? I just want to know the reason why Brian Hull's no longer on top of the cast list. Red4Smash (talk) 04:17, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

This list was rearranged in accordance to the official cast listing posted by Sony's Hotel Transylvania: Transformania website. The best estimation for why Hull was moved lower in the cast list is due to star and returning cast recognizability. Sony would prefer to advertise the recognizable cast of the first three films, in a higher compacity, than newcomers Brian Hull and Brad Abrell. Dracula is still a major role, but the cast listing reflects Sony's desire to advertise the returning actors, over the newcomers. Cardei012597 (talk) 04:24, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Feb '22

What is the source for this release date? 2600:8800:170C:EF00:117D:2C4A:FB54:3BB9 (talk) 14:36, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

Infobox image

Is this image appropiate to be labeled as a "teaser poster"? It looks it's from the video posted on social media with the new release date so this would be more of a promotional image for the film rather than a proper film poster, pinging @Cardei012597: as the original uploader -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 19:18, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Ok, I changed the caption to "promotional image". I hope this situation is resolved now. Cardei012597 (talk) 19:23, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Add Official Release Poster

There is a new poster for the film. I tried to upload it but it wouldn't let me. I was wondering if anyone else could do it. Red4Smash (talk) 16:52, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

The poster is featured in this article: https://collider.com/hotel-transylvania-4-character-posters-monster-changes/amp/ Red4Smash (talk) 17:48, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

Change genre for the series?

I've noticed that the second, third, and fourth films in the Hotel Transylvania franchise are categorized as "Monster" films, but I think they'd be more appropriately labeled as "Supernatural" films or simply just comedy films. However, when I tried changing the genres for the franchise, I was warned. Any way I could change the genre(s) without being punished?
