Special Remarks (to be clarified)

referring to the remarks in the "Housing in Figures, explanatory note", the no. of population rent a private but does not own it is count in the private permanent housing. temporary housing are referring to home which is not suitable for home.

High Costs section[edit]

This section reads like an essay and a number of reasons are listed as contributing to the high cost of housing in the territory. The reason for the selection of the items in the list should be explained: is it extracted from a report or is it a list assembled by the author of the section? Also, the link between the high cost of housing in Hong Kong and the Small House Policy is unclear. The Small House Policy should certainly be mentioned somewhere in the article, but maybe not in this section. It is a controversial policy, which has generated a lot of debate. But what is its impact on the cost of housing in the territory? has it been mentioned somewhere as claimed by the intro sentence "Several reasons for the high costs have been outlined by the media, and are explained below."? Small house policy are low density villages. Their development density is similar to urban sprawl in American suburb. Which is a significant contrast against the high development density of most other parts of Hong Kong. Hence the Small House Policy which generate these low density development have been regarded as a cause for the housing supply shortage in Hong Kong. This, and relevant other paragraphs that discuss land uses, are all working from the thesis that the current high housing cost in Hong Kong is a consequence of not enough housing supply to match the demand which allowed housing price to rise continuously. The link between the high cost of housing and the "Stamp Duty Exemptions" is also far from obvious. The "Stamp Duty Exemptions" paragraph probably doesn't belong to this section, or even to this article. Underwaterbuffalo (talk) 16:40, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
