Someone took Romania off. Perhaps this page [1] means something other than what I assumed, that Romania has a party. Is that not a party? Or am I confused? Tedernst 05:16, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There are some links here that don't seem to be related. Are they? Tedernst | talk 20:35, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't understand. Neither of these groups are connected with the Humanist International, are they? Tedernst | talk 22:57, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.

The IHEU is the world body for Humanism, representing 4 million people in over 100 organisations worldwide. Although not a political party (and neither are the member organisations), they share many of the same ethical humanist views mentioned in the Humanist International article.

The Secular Party of Australia may not be called the Humanist Party of Australia, but it is the nearest thing to it in Australia. It is a new political party, and also explicitly shares humanist views.

I hope this helps.

Well, sort of. My only concern is there may be confusion among groups. If a political party is not a member of the Humanist International, I'm not sure how it serves the reader by listing them on this page. As for the IHEU, you say it is "the" world body for "Humanism," but it would perhaps be more clear to say "a" world body for "humanism" as the Humanist International comes out of the Humanist Movement, which has over 1 million members worldwide. I don't actually have a problem with those links on this page (I hope it doesn't sound as if I feel I own the page. It's obvious that I do not. This is an open project and I have no more right to determine the content than anyone else). I'm just trying to understand how it serves the reader. "My only concern is there may be confusion among groups. " Fair enough, let's change the wording to clarify. "Humanist International comes out of the Humanist Movement, which has over 1 million members worldwide" and the IHEU has 4 million members worldwide, so must surely be of interest to people who read the Humanist International article. . "perhaps be more clear to say "a" " - sure, no problem. "This is an open project and I have no more right to determine the content than anyone else)." well said, I couldn't agree more. --Couttsie 03:32, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Siloists are a cult. They've been trying to move into Spain for years with little success. They call themselves a variety of things around here, normally the Partido Humanista or the Movimiento Humanista. Check my blog iberiannotes@blogspot.com, and a variety of easily-Googled other sources. --John Aust

Hi! i corrected the writing under Secular Party of Australia, it said that it explicitly shares Humanist Movement ethical views, but it appeared to me a mistake, so i changed it to explicitly shares Secular Humanist ethical views. Or is it now me who is confused? - Juha

Having stumbled onto this page from the disambiguation for political internationals, I must say that it seems to be lacking some crucial information. Specifically, the only mention of the apparent controversies surrounding this organization come toward the end of the main exposition, and only include a couple of links. If there are actually substantial allegations that this organization is some kind of "cult" (a very loaded term and a very serious allegation), they should be documented within the article itself, not merely outsourced to a few external links. Status?[edit]

The Humanist-International website redirects to the website of "International Humanist Party" there is no list of members, nor any hints that it could be a real political international like others (being an iNGO) - it seems to me that it might have grown into something different --Dichter (talk) 13:18, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Table[edit]

The following was the result of a discussion concerning the verifiability of organizations with lists or tables of members:

Resolved: Lists or tables of members belonging to a political international or other organization that are unsourced or sourced by self-published sources must be deleted. When an organization claims it has members it is self-serving, and therefore must be deleted under WP:V. Please note that this applies to all organizations with members, including all other political internationals.

Thus, per WP:V, the table of members on this page must be deleted, and remain deleted, until the table can be properly sourced by independent sources.

Siloism and Humanist International have NO relation at all[edit]

This article is profoundly biased and needs a deep revision. The so called "humanism" party in Argentina has no relationship with any other humanist organization and does not belong to or founded a consortium. It has even been declared a sect several times. This is not my native language and I don't have the English knowledge to rewrite this article. Cravieja (talk) 23:09, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
