The Constitution of 1940 was suspended in January, 1959[edit]

There was a national election 1958 Cuban general election by the People of Cuba who had elected Andrés Rivero Agüero. The inconvenient truth is that the self appointed new "government" overthrew a dully elected government along withthe Constitution of 1940.
