Music[edit]

The article states that "Hydlide is also infamously known for its repetitive music, which bears similarity to John Williams' Indiana Jones theme. For the Famicom (NES) version this is understandable, since the only two RPG/Adventure games made for the Famicom without bankswitched memory were it and Enix's adventure game PORTOPIA Renzoku Satsujin Jiken which has no music." I agree he didn't explain it well, but it is related. Without bankswitching, memory is very limited, leaving little room for music, or no room at all in the case of the other game mentioned. Such little room meant one simple tune over and over. The simple tune they used sounds like the Indy theme.76.226.99.243 (talk) 04:03, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

pc remake Hydlide: Download Edition[edit]

is the pc remake will be considered? just a quick question, since i found no info on the net, about the pc remake of 2000. Genre confusion[edit]

Hello. I have a bit of an issue with the following sentence in the main article:

"The game took several years to release in America, by which time The Legend of Zelda had a more refined, advanced take on the action-RPG formula"

This comparison makes little sense in the way it's written because these games are from different genres. Hydlide is very much an Action-RPG hybrid, but the Legend of Zelda is Action-Adventure... not a hint of RPG in it so, clearly, the comparison is flawed.

One might argue that by the time Hydlide was released outside of Japan, many other NES games were superior (regardless of genre), but singling out the Legend of Zelda seems out of place.

Should this be completely removed from the article (since it seems to be original research, anyway), or should it be rewritten in a more accurate way? Opinions, please.

It's been about nine months since I posted the above message and no one provided any further input on this. Given that the original source given is questionable (not notable, personal gaming site), I decided to delete that small piece.

If you believe there's a better a way to rephrase it (without, incorrectly, calling the The Legend of Zelda a RPG, for instance) and you can find a more reliable source, by all means, add it. I looked but, frankly, found nothing.
