Wrong Info[edit]
This article has very poor descriptions of the technology, so poor that I would call it just plain wrong. Saying "the stored energy creates a current on its own" is just plain wrong and shows a lack of understanding of technology and science. The description of the click-wheel is even worse. - Support This article can just be merged as it doesn't need an article for itself. It should be treated like the rest of iPod parts (there is no article for the iPod's screen or chassis) so its just fitting. Itsquietuptown (talk) 11:34, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- Weak support It’s clear that there isn’t much to say about the click wheel other than as it pertains to the iPod itself; in addition, the quality of the article is clearly lacking, and is merely a weak substitute for the page on capacitive sensing. Perhaps if there were some sources discussing the history behind the development of the click wheel, such as conceptual predecessors or the design process within Apple, then there would be more reason to maintain a dedicated article. - Strong oppose; a quick Google search shows plenty of substantial coverage of the click wheel on its own; it robustly meets WP:NPRODUCT and the WP:GNG. Expand to "iPod wheel" in general?[edit]
This article only covers the "click wheel", but I think for comprehensiveness, we should cover the earlier (non-capacitive) design too in this article. Any thoughts? DFlhb (talk) 09:37, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
