The result of the move request was: No move. There is concern about possible confusion with the film A.I.; at any rate there is no consensus to move the article and it seems unlikely continued discussion will yield a different result. Cúchullain t/c 23:22, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose to reiterate my stance at WP:RMTR speedy rename, I oppose this move as the Stanley Kubrick/Steven Spielberg film is also found spelled in this manner. As that film is in English and this film is not, it is also the more likely subject. -- 70.24.244.161 (talk) 12:32, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:NCF. No other film with this exact title. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:24, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • The Kubrick/Spielberg film is also known by this title. -- 70.24.244.161 (talk) 05:47, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - don't see quality sources confusing with A.I., but still not really sure what should be the title (it's a shame Ai (Tamil film) versus Ai (Chinese film) for Love (2012 Taiwanese film) is counter WP:NCF). The film is also called "I" not "Ai" in English sources. Until we have a clearer picture the (2014 film) is helpful but Lugnuts is right per WP:NCF. In ictu oculi (talk)
  • Oppose Following the guideline is wonderful and commendable, but there are specific cases where outside factors may render the guideline less than useful. This is one of those cases. Because the Spielberg film is a more likely search topic in English Wikipedia, capitalization confusion could misdirect a certain percentage of readers. Leaving the date in the title of Tamil film does disobey the guideline; but, it serves the admirable goal of clarification for these confused readers. I support clarity above mere conformity for the sake of standardization. Xoloz (talk) 03:18, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Perhaps the guidelines need a tweak on this point! Andrewa (talk) 08:36, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The current title is needlessly specific if there are no other films named "Ai". JIP | Talk 14:01, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to me that in the critical response section that no one would like to mention that some critics (e.g.Reddif,OnlyKollywood etc...) actually did find the film good but rather they want to bash the movie by stating those that did not find the movie good. I request to add the positives.

The story starts with a terribly deformed hunchback abducting Diya (Amy Jackson) on her marriage day. She is held captive in an abandoned mansion, while the hunchback goes about exacting revenge. The hunchback sets Ravi, a bodybuilder, on fire but then saves him.

In a flashback, Ravi is jealous of Lingesan (Vikram), a competitor for the Mr. Tamil Nadu title, who moves on to become a model. Diya, an A-list model, cajols Lingesan to take up a big modelling assignment to be filmed in China. He does several TV modelling assignments and his modelling career grows, during which he offends an advertising guru (Ganesan) and also the attention of transgender makeup artist, Osma (Rajani) and the family doctor of Diya Shriram Gopi. Lingesan's career gives him opportunity to get close to Diya who uses Lingesan to get rid of romantic advances of John ( Patel). John and the other antagonists plot for Lingesan's downfall which ends up in transforming Lingesan from a smart looking man to a hunchback by injecting the influenza virus into him. The rest of the story shows how he exacts revenge on them. Diya accepts him the way he is. In post credits scene: he gets treatment from a doctor and in the end he is shown partly cured.

This be changed to the following which I have typed (Y) -

The story starts with a terribly deformed hunchback abducting Diya (Amy Jackson) on her marriage day. She is held captive in an abandoned mansion, while the hunchback goes about exacting revenge. The hunchback sets Ravi, a bodybuilder, on fire but then saves him.

In a flashback, Lingesan (Vikram), a bodybuilder competing in the Mr.Tamil Nadu contest, who's only close friend is Gym Babu (Santhanam) has a crush on Diya (Amy Jackson), a A-List model, who is disturbed by John (Upen Patel). He helps Dr.Vasudevan (Suresh Gopi) in the gym, who is his personal doctor. After Diya rejects John's advances, Amy is rejected for the upcoming ad shooting. She cajols Lingesan to take up a big modelling assignment which is to be filmed in China. He works for the ad under the name of Lee, after Osma (Ojas Rajani), a transgender makeup artist styles him, who later gets attracted to him. Lee replaces John for the ad-shooting. During the ad shooting, the ad-maker (Mohan Kapoor) is angry as Lee doesn't have the right assets to perfect the ad. He request Diya to make him fall in love with Lee, in order to perfect the ad. Lee aka Lingesan is ecstatic after he comes to know that Diya loves her. But his feelings is broken after Diya reveals that she told her she loves her in order to make the ad perfect. After the ad shooting, Diya falls in love with Lee, which breaks Osma's feelings. Then the story comes back to the present where the hunchback puts a mixture in Osma's body lotion and moisturiser, which makes Osma grow hair all over his body.

Then the story comes back in a flashback, where the profit of Ice Drink company increases, which pleases Indra Kumar (Ramkumar Ganesan), the owner of the company, for which Lee has done the ads. John gets angry that he got rejected for the ad. Everything goes wrong when Lingesan rejects ad-shooting for Ice Drink after he found out there was pesticides. He reveals the news about it to the media, which in turn caused protests at the Ice Drink manufacturing plant, causing losses for the company. Indra Kumar gets angry about it and plans to take revenge on Lingesan. Then in the present comes when the hunchback gets Indra Kumar stung by bees.

In the flashback, Lingesan and Diya gets an award for the best pair. That night, Diya's mother plans to arrange the engagement between Lingesan and Diya, when that night John and Ravi plans to kidnap Lingesan. After Lingesan beats up the both of them, he unknowningly gets knocked out. After that incident, Lingesan gets strange changes to this body, turning him to a hunchback. After Diya fails to recognise him, Lingesan fakes his death in a car accident in order to get revenge on his enemies who made him into a hunchback. Diya's mother arranges marriage with John, which Dr.Vasudevan rejects as he thinks John is cheap, and tells her to get Diya married to him. Then a doctor who tested Lingesan's blood and urine reveals to him that he was injected with influenza virus or H4N2 virus, which was very rare. Then Lingesan goes to the apartment where the antagonists were partying. Then it is revealed that Dr.Vasudevan was the one who injected the virus. Then it is revealed that Dr.Vasudevan deeply loved Diya, and he's angry that Lingesan snatched her away within quick time. Diya knows about this through Lingesan and she's shocked Lingesan turned into a hunchback. Lingesan attacks Dr.Vasudevan's house after Diya gets kidnapped. Then John attacks Lingesan on top of a train. During the fight John gets electrocuted and part of his bodys get's turned into chars. Then Dr. Vasudevan gets admitted in a hospital in a pitiful state. Then it is revealed that Dr.Vasudevan had got bitten by Lingesan's dog and had ordered for rabies curing medicines. Lingesan replaces the medicine with the tablets with the injected virus.

After taking revenge, Diya and Lingesan goes lives happily in a quiet place, while Amy helps Lingesan recover from the disease.

The story begins with a terribly deformed hunchback who kidnaps Diya (Amy Jackson) on her marriage day. He bring her to an abandoned mansion. The hunchback eventually sets fire on a bodybuilder named Ravi (M. Kamaraj) but saves him so that he becomes deformed like the hunchback.

In a flashback, Ravi is jealous of Lingesan (Vikram) who wins the Tamil Nadu title for bodybuilding. He eventually comes across his favourite model who happens to be Diya. To save money for the Mr.India Title he saves money by doing modelling. One day she goes to Lingesan to and asks him to come to China instead of John because in every ads he does with Diya he happens to ask her to go out with him and she would reject him. Lingesan eventually accepts her offer to go China. Before they go to China Diya goes to a hairstylist named Osma (Ojaas Rajani) who is a transgender to fix Lingesan's hair. They also come across an advertising guru named Indra Kumar (Ramkumar Ganesan) and gets the permission to go to China. During an ad shooting the ad director (Mohan Kapoor) gets angry at Lingesan for not doing the act properly. The ad director requests Diya to love Lingesan so that he can do the act properly and if Diya rejects, she would have to do it with John. Diya succeeds in getting Lingesan to love her. Thing go well till Lingesan finds out that Diya was faking her love so that he can do the ad properly and not let John act with her. The next morning Lingesan is attacked by Chinese people who happens to be John's henchmen but Lingesan attacks John's henchmen and survives. Diya again asks him to love him again but this time, her love is actually true and Lingesan accepts her love again. Meanwhile Osma falls in love with Lingesan but he insults her love since Osma is a trangender. When they come back he asks Indra Kumar not to do the Ice Drinks ad because he knows that it is unhealthy and he gets mad at him for not doing the ad. On the awards day Lingesan gets attacked by John's henchmen including Ravi and survives but he faints. On each day he finds something different including a loss of hair, a lose tooth, a bad throat and bubbles all over him. He asks Vasudevan (Suresh Gopi) a doctor and finds out it's a disease. He requests Vasudevan to marry Diya so that he can live with happiness. On the day before his marriage Lingesan gets to know it was not a disease but a virus. He finds out that the Influenza Virus aka I virus was injected by John, Osma, Ravi and the Indra Kumar. It is revealed that it was not just them but Doctor Vasudevan because he was in love with Diya and wouldn't allow anyone to love her. Lingesan commits suicide but saved by a doctor. Babu who is Lingesan's friend (Santhanam) convinces him to take revenge on them.

He tells the flashback to Diya and she gets so shocked by hearing the flashback. He then takes the revenge on the other villains. He does not kill them but makes them deformed like him instead using Babu. Ravi becomes a monster who 's body is burnt all over. Osma's body gets hairy all over. Indra Kumar's body is bubbly by bees. John becomes a hole-mouthed person who can't talk. Vasudevan gets completely fat including his face too. Lingesan convinces Diya not to live with him since he is deformed but she bring him to the house they were waiting since they were at China. Lingesan eventually get cured and has his original back and body back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coolanbu22 (talkcontribs) 22:26, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On the introduction to the wikipedia page there is a portion: The film, released on 14 January 2015, tells the story of a body builder turned super model, played by Vikram, who after being deformed, exacts revenge upon those who turned him into a hunchback.

This portion is really a spoiler, as the movie itself doesn't reveal this part until more than half the film has gone. I think it should be removed thereby.. 130.237.89.158 (talk) 14:50, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please change this: In an interview with the Tamil channel Sun TV, held shortly after the release of Enthiran in October 2010, the film's lead actor Rajinikanth revealed that Shankar, in 1996, following the release of his Indian, had approached and pitched three storylines for him to consider for his next venture. Rajinikanth was impressed with two of the scripts and agreed to star in the films, which became Sivaji (2007) and Enthiran (2010). The third script narrated by Shankar was centered on an aspiring bodybuilder who would later turn into a deformed hunchback following a freak accident. Rajinikanth was sceptical of it and refused it.[9]

The third script narrated by Shankar was centered on an aspiring bodybuilder who would later turn into a deformed hunchback following a freak accident. After Rajnikanth revealed the third script, also stating that he would be interested in working with Shankar once again, it was widely speculated that he would also be cast as the main actor for the movie for the third script. However, following the release of Nanban (2012), Shankar revealed the project with Vikram in the lead.
