Different end line[edit]

Hang on ... the verse I remember reciting as a child went like this:

If wishes were horses
Beggars would ride,
If turnips were watches
I would wear one by my side.
And if "if"s and "and"s were pots and pans,
There'd be no work for tinkers' hands!

The last one is significantly different from the one in the article. Hasn't anyone else heard this version? JustPotteringAround (talk) 23:53, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In Popular Culture Section[edit]

I added an "In Popular Culture" box to the top of this page - See WP:POPCULTURE for a detailed explanation of the problem. Perhaps the person or persons who added all of these factoids might come back, reconsider whether they are important and find some sources for the ones we want to keep. Otherwise I'll probably end up deleting the entire section. I appreciate the effort, and there's a sense in which it's interesting, but it's not the kind or calibre of info one expects to find on a Wikipedia page.
