Page improvement suggestions[edit]

Hello, I've greatly expanded this article with several sections. Since this is now a newsworthy topic, let's discuss any proposed format or content here. I feel that the following paragraph under Conditions, subsection Diagnosis, could be worded in a less confusing manner toward the end. “ Because the skin test for TB was unreliable, diagnostic ships began to rely more on chest x-rays, exposing children and adults to yearly doses of radiation, for some community members over 40 years.[23]”Staind fan1 (talk) 23:44, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Page name[edit]

I also think this article could use a name change: perhaps "Canadian Indian hospital system," to somewhat mirror the "Canadian Indian residential school system" article? Allanaaaaaaa (talk) 02:25, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. There doesn't appear to be a history of referring to the hospitals as the "Canadian Indian hospital system". "Indian hospitals" is, however, quite prevalent. Given that the focus of this page is about hospitals in what is now Canada, "Canadian Indian hospitals" gets my vote. --Dnllnd (talk) 13:42, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Competing references[edit]

A competing claim (without reference) for the foundation of the Coqualeetza Indian Hospital "in the mid-1930s" - other references say it was a residential school and started conversion to a hospital in 1940. Needs further investigation. Allanaaaaaaa (talk) 20:26, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Class[edit]

I agree and have bumped the class rating for the other two WikiProjects.

In the "National initiative" section there is a bit that says, "Studies show that" and then a quote from a single source. This should be re-worded so that instead of "studies" it refers to the specific paper in the citation. Cheers, PK T(alk) 12:15, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
