"Solo Dolo Part II" actually samples "Going the Distance" by the same band, not "The Traitor." 150.216.111.11 (talk) 22:56, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Solo Dolo PT II not written by Michels, Brenneck, Guy[edit]

Solo Dolo Pt II contains a sample of Menahan Street Band's cover of "Going The Distance" originally written by Bill Conti.

Bill Conti should be credited as a writer w/ Mescudi and Duckworth, not Michels, Brenneck, and Guy.

General
  • One external link to address.
  • Can you organize the references in columns of three instead of two?
  • When discussing chart positions, can you write out "number X" instead of "#X"?
  • A "Release history" section would be nice to have at the end of the article.
  • Please make sure that every citation has an access date.
  • All the above is done. However, checklinks yields no results for me? STATic message me! 19:26, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • When I checked it was one link from Amazon.com, but the link works fine for me and it doesn't seem to redirect or anything, so I think it will be fine to leave it as-is.
Introduction
  • Can you touch on the musical styles in one of the paragraphs? That would be good information to have at quick glance.
Background
  • Can you find another way to write "to say the least" that sounds more formal?
  • Similarly, maybe "uncharacteristic" (or something of that nature) can be a more neutral way to say "surprisingly".
  • I removed both instances as they seemed to be unnecessary an puffery. STATic message me! 19:42, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Recording and production
  • Since this section is so long, maybe you can break it up into separate "Recording" and "Production" sections? I figured that the former could focus more on the fact that he was back in the studio and reaching out to new collaborators, while the latter can talk about his focus on production values and the movie inspiration stuff.
  • Instead of saying "Indicud MC", it would be better to just say Kid Cudi or Cudi.
Release and promotion
  • Looks good to me!
Singles
  • It looks like every mention of a chart position needs a citation to verify them.
Commercial performance
  • To give this section a little bit more meat, can you make prose out of all of the chart positions listed in the "Charts" position?
  • You'll also need to find another reference for the UK chart position in this section, since the Complex citation only talks about the U.S.
  • Thanks for mentioning this, I guess around its release a lot of chart positions were missed. Now they are added to the table and the prose. STATic message me! 03:37, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Critical response
  • Can you paraphrase some of the longer quotes?
  • It was a bit lengthy at some points, I trimmed them down quite a bit. STATic message me! 03:37, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Track listing
  • You should mention that the songwriting/production credits are pulled from the liner notes.
  • When you add in the official liner notes reference, it won't be necessary to have those questionable WhoSampled sources.
Personnel
  • Can you add in a reference to supplement the "Credits for Indicud taken from the album's liner notes" piece?
And done. STATic message me! 03:37, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
