Untitled[edit]

I noticed that the article describes the Ingersolls as being loyalists, but when you link to Thomas's article and then to his daughter Laura Secord/Ingersoll they are mentioned as not being loyalists. Are they or aren't they? Ozdaren 14:54, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • This link to the Town of Ingersoll History from the Town itself describes Thomas as a Loyalist when it discusses the Coat of Arms: "The Red background is symbolic of the Towns association with the Empire Loyalists, led by Thomas Ingersoll, who came north after the American Revolution and settled in this area." I would like to see a bit about the town's politics. Perhaps some information on the change from Ingersoll Police to OPP. I completely disagree, Drug and Alcohol problems are known issues in every town and city, no matter the size. I also disagree that the bar fights should be noted... every bar has fights, it only gets worse if the bar gets bigger. This article is due for excessive cleanup, most of the sections were added by the looks of it, just to garnish some attention towards a specific program. Effect of Economic Slowdown[edit]

Can anyone contribute to information about the town's heavy reliance on auto industry and effects of economic slowdown? i.e. the recent month long complete shutdown of the C.A.M.I. plant. Well, the town was just over 8500 population prior to the car plan being built. Obviously, the growth to over 11,000 has to be linked between the growth of Ingersoll as a bedroom community to London (and even Kitchener in some situations), and the car plant. Therefore, fewer than 2500 are involved - since the car plant never staffed that many, and there are very few secondary related industries in town, the numbers are tough. Discrepincy over CAMI ownership[edit]

Indeed - it's owned in part by Suzuki Canada, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzuki Japan. In this article, the requirement to even discuss the ownership is useless, as that information belongs on the source article. (talk→ Bwilkins / BMW ←track) 16:48, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
