Shevchenko's first language is Russian[edit]

Everybody who is born in South Ukraine or East Ukraine first language is Russian; I fail to see why this is relevant in this case... Puting this info in this article gives the feeling that people who's first language is Russian are not suppose to become activists. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:34, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The info "she is also fluent in English" also seems redundant to me (if it is not so it should also be included if she speaks Ukrainian). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 00:05, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yulia - I chose to include Inna's language ability in this article because as this is a biography piece I felt it was important to make it clear which of Ukraine's two main language groups she is from. Many readers of the article will not know that most people from Southern Ukraine are Russian speakers. Her language had absolutely no connection with her activism and none is made in the article. That she speaks English is relevant as it shows how she communicates on the international stage - she is based in France but does not speak French. I hope this helps with your questions. Thanks. Wllmevans.

I applaud your good intentions but you failed in your attempt "to make it clear which of Ukraine's two main language groups she is from" since it is not stated that there are "two main language groups in Ukraine" in this article. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 15:18, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done this just a few seconds away. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 15:30, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
