The version of this article before December 2013's edits, falsely confused the prostitution activities of the Barbary Coast( last half of 1800s ) with the much later community that this article describes, International Settlement( starts in 1930s, decades after prostitution is illegal in California ). There are no historic references of overt prostitution on this Pacific Street block during the 1930s through the late 1950s, the time span of International Settlement's existence.James Carroll (talk) 19:03, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

hippodrome and moulin rouge[edit]

There's a photo from 1956 on Flickr which shows the Hippodrome and the Moulin Rouge as separate enterprises, with the MR at 660, not 555. In between is a club of some sort called Bella Pacific.
