"Vanity" links[edit]
I have just removed a couple of short paragraphs and links within the original article that I created after receiving complaints (to do with an entirely different page) that I had inserted unecessary reference to individuals whose reputations might somehow profit, or be enhanced by a reference on Wikipedia. Personally I think that some otherwise-unknown linkages and connections will be of interest to those who are actually interested in the subject, even if it is not to those who are just interested in how they think an encyclopedia of user-generated content ought to be run, but I don't want to run foul of the Wikipolice again. I certainly don't want to be accused of trying to unfairly enhance the reputation of my friends, when that is not the aim at all. --Timonroad 00:17, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
