That is implausible because it can't explain how the Dog has never seen them, nor why some would be absolutely fixed in place and motionless while others talk endlessly. It's a hard reference, which Kafka's contemporaries would get easily but you would have little reason to know about His Master's Voice. I've added a reference identifying it, and pointed out that it's not even the only satirical fiction to use the analogy. --Gwern (contribs) 03:18 26 November 2021 (GMT)
