Iota Alpha Pi was a national sorority. It was once a member of the National Panhellenic Conference. Iota Alpha Pi is significant b/c many of its members are searching for information. It is the first national Jewish sorority. (Marniem8437 (talk) 13:50, 14 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Why is this tagged as patent nonsense? Is it the use of so many Greek characters? Those are names of sororities and chapters, not gibberish! 65.126.19.22 (talk) 20:23, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Iota Alpha Pi struck me as close to certain greek letter puns (it looks like Lota alpha Pi which isn't far from Iota Eta Pi or something straight up humorous), I couldn't find anything on the internet about the sorority (although I didn't search aggresively) and there were the original initials of the sorority which really threw me and the article was contributed in whole by a new editor. I reached a mistaken conclusion and I apologize for any distress I caused.
I have now added a referenced mention of the initials being controversial (in retrospect I suppose, and perhaps even a source of the slur itself). So hopefully no one else will be confused as I was. Sorry about that. Thanks for contributing an interesting article. ChildofMidnight (talk) 21:01, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to be a genuine sorority[edit]

Or else a very widespread hoax. [1], for example, backs up the description given in this article. [2] seems to show that people are researching and looking for members. keɪɑtɪk flʌfi (talk) 20:34, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
