London Crosslink[edit]

Has anyone any idea why the London Crosslink is listed as a historic railway. This was a short lived serviceItalic text by then operator Anglia Railways using existing stations. The historic railways template is as far as I know for closed stations (such as Bramford and Bentley in this example).

The service has been recorded in the train services section of the article which is correct.

Any views?--Davidvaughanwells (talk) 08:32, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The {{historical rail insert}} template is for services which no longer run, but where the line itself still has a passenger service. By contrast, {{disused rail insert}} is for routes where the line is closed to passenger traffic. In both cases, the open/closed status of the stations is immaterial. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:21, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have to say that looking at the entry for Ipswich its confusing - the table above is much clearer. What the historical rail insert could be used for is to record the minutiae of historical timetables - in the case of Ipswich why not add the Sheffield - Felixstowe summer Saturday service which ran 1923-1939? Don't get me wrong as I find this most interesting but the format is, to my mind, confusing. That said I will take no action on this matter.--Davidvaughanwells (talk) 22:28, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Distance from London?[edit]

Afraid I don't have the book, but how many miles/chains is this station down the line from LST? --TBM10 (talk) 20:49, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
