Russell Westbrook[edit]

Request: Russell Westbrook should no longer be on the active pursuit list. Apologies if this is not the proper way to make requests via the talk page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattorama12 (talkcontribs) 17:48, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Omer Asik is now the leader in consecutive games played. He's now been added. Stylteralmaldo (talk) 19:14, 15 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What? No Joe McGinnity?[edit]

How is it possible to have an article on "iron men" in sports and not mention Joe McGinnity? For one, the term originates with him. He was known as "Iron Man" even before he pitched both ends of doubleheaders - five times, no less - having worked in an iron foundry owned by his wife's family. Once he pulled off his "iron man" feats in pitching doubleheaders, sports writers began applying the term to other feats of durability. Allreet (talk) 17:11, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you have information on how he's important to the article, have at it and add information about him in the article. Stylteralmaldo (talk) 18:04, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. Thanks. Allreet (talk) 04:09, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tennis?[edit]

Roger Federer has participated in a huge number of consecutive Grand Slam tournaments, right? Simplebutpowerful 06:01, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to this website: (http://www.tennis28.com/slams/cons_appearances.html) he is the all-time leader in consecutive slam appearances with 57 (surpassing the previous leader who had 56). I'll add the data as it stands right now as it is applicable to this article. The website data may be outdated as it appears to only go through 2014. If someone has something more current, please add the data and update accordingly. Stylteralmaldo (talk) 15:40, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Iron men list[edit]

Shouldn't the list be limited only to those who are specifically mentioned as Iron men in sources? Alvaldi (talk) 11:33, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I'll go ahead and remove the Formula 1 row from the table. ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  13:52, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's not just lists of random sports streaks, it should be limited to sports where there is significant independent coverage calling the achievement as "iron man" streak. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:00, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I removed a few names from the list where I could not find any iron man reference to their streaks. The Background text needs to be rewritten too. Alvaldi (talk) 15:34, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kessel[edit]

Is Kessel's streak still "current"? He didn't play at all this season. ― "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (talk)  17:36, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
