Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because this is an important organization in the Israel Scouts and I have just created it. I think we should let other people to add more information for it and it will become a good article in Wikipedia. --Dor Posner (talk) 11:54, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... I'll note that the criteria specifies not an educational institution yet Scouting organizations in Israel are under the control of the Ministry of Education and so it is an educational institution. It also has about 2,000 members and is a national organization in Israel; this makes it significant (though not necessarily notable). --Erp (talk) 20:04, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Improvements[edit]

Suggested improvements.

  • Check what I rewrote to make sure it is making the same point as the original. I assume this (the bit about the Organization's aims) is from the Ministry of Education info. In which case mark the whole with a citation, e.g.,
    <ref name=mined/>
    since we already have the full reference. Clarify the language of the one sentence I couldn't really understand (marked with a clarify template).
  • Add citations in other appropriate places.
  • It is mentioned that the name changed to "The Arab Scouts Organization" is this different from the "Arab School Scouts Association"? What is the difference between the two groups (one guess is that the Arab School Scouts Association crosses religious boundaries). Why did the name change? Given the name change the article might be better under the new name (with (Israel) appended or Israel prepended) and a redirect from the current name (but we can wait on that).
  • The various levels, e.g., Nitzanim, should probably be accompanied by an English translation (I think Nitzanim in Hebrew is buds as in flower buds? Is it the same in Arabic or is this the Hebrew translation of an Arabic word?)
  • promise and laws needed
  • Any notable people who were members as children (e.g., members of the Knesset, judges, founders of business, scholars, artists, etc.)? Ideally some with Wikipedia articles (either in the English Wikipedia or in the Hebrew or Arabic Wikipedias).

There is a vast scope for improving the Israel Scouting wikipedia pages. --Erp (talk) 00:43, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Arab Scout Movement[edit]

Arab Scout Movement seems to be the name given at https://www.isf-shalom.org/en/The-Arab-Scout-Movement though part of the problem might be translation. Also it has a starting date of 1999 not 1956. However, same web site, "The Arab Scouts for Peace Organization" is listed as starting in 1956. Erp (talk) 04:04, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
