I'm not familiar with Wikipedia editing. I just wanted to comment on the "Censorship Agreement" mentioned in the article. This agreement actually dates back to December 1949 where the basic lines of cooperation between the military and the media were agreed upon: no political censorship or censorship of opinion and comment, no authority for the censor to independently punish media outlets that are members of the Editor's Committee, establishing of a "Committee of Three" (one representative of the military, one of the media, one of the public) that decides in cases of conflict between the media and the military. In 1951 a limitation to the power of the chief of staff of the IDF was added, so that he could not overrule unanimous decisions of the Committee of the Three anymore. The reshaping of the agreement in 1966, which is mentioned in the article, was actually rather insignificant and included only minor changes. See: Yehiel Limor, Hillel Nossek: Fifty Years In A "Marriage Of Convenience". News Media And Military Censorship In Israel, in: Communication law and policy, 6, 1, 2001, p. 1–36, here: p. 18. 109.160.165.121 (talk) 18:02, 8 May 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.160.165.121 (talk) 18:01, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gag Orders[edit]

There's a common misconcepcion that gag orders in security-related issues are issued by the Military Censorship (cf. [1]), which is not the case. I'm not sure how to phrase this for the article. Tzafrir (talk) 10:16, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just don't use that unreliable source. --Shuki (talk) 22:12, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
