Deafness, attempted suicide and musical success after loss of hearing? This is OBVIOUSLY an homage to Beethoven, correct?

If you were a musician who made a living based on your hearing... suicide after deafness would be a likely result... he was successful before the deafness in the movie ... and successful afterwards. I do not think there is any intentional homage to Beethoven.  ALKIVAR 14:48, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He's referenced in one of the talking head sequence as "the obvious exception" to the rule of deafness ending a musical career Jhalkompwdr (talk) 15:46, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I came to this page with the intention of making a connection between Frankie and Ludwig. Apparently Im not the only one who thinks that "based on a true story" might not be a outright lie after all. And to all those visiting this page: FRANKIE WILDE WAS NEVER REAL, THE MOVIE WAS MADE TO FOOL YOU. YOU NEVER SAW HIM LIVE, DO NOT LIE TO US. Go argue on imdb where people might care. user:Avenged Evanfold

DD5.1 on US release[edit]

Why is this listed as something special? My Irish release (and oddly enough its not a UK one with stickers on it - although the DVD has UK censor marks) has DD5.1 also. --85.134.141.187 18:00, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a Calgary DJ called Pete Wilde whose name, it is said, was borrowed for the main character. 1tuffM 20:55, 17 July 2007 (UTC)1tuffM[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Frankiewilde.jpg[edit]

Image:Frankiewilde.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Inspiration[edit]

It could be interesting, as in the french article to write the possible influences:

Possible inspirations: Frankie Knuckles, David Guetta et sa femme Cathy Guetta, Larry Levan, Roger Sanchez
