TenPoundHammer — Thanks for creating an article about this song; it was very helpful to the project and to me. I'm sure you are aware this was a 1950s standard originally recorded by Brook Benton, and it had been a country hit twice before (once in 1970 by Sonny James and again in early 1986 by Glen Campbell. With that in mind, I am going to do a re-direct, taking off the Randy Travis song reference and retitling this "It's Just a Matter of Time," plus add infoboxes for the Sonny James version; info about Benton's original version and Campbell's 1986 recording will come later. I've added info about the writing of the song and Benton's original recording, plus a succession box for Benton's version on the R&B chart. If anyone wants to add an infobox for the original, please do; otherwise I'll try to come back and do it at some point. Thanks. Brettalan (talk) 22:29, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The last edit says that Belford Hendricks was already writing songs with Benton and Otis prior to working on the session for the song--I don't think that's correct. Anyone have a cite? If no one gives reason to keep it, I will revert. Hendricks is mentioned as a co-writer later on. Brettalan (talk) 05:52, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Finally made the infobox for the original. (Hey, I said "at some point," didn't I?) It could use an image, though. Brettalan (talk) 03:22, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aretha Franklin[edit]

There's no mention of Aretha Franklin's version? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.124.55.198 (talk) 07:29, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
