Meaning of hebrew name[edit]

Article says: translates loosly to "friendly". hmm... I don't know about that. In what language would it have this meaning? As a word, it doesn't exist in hebrew both contemporary and biblical. Not in this meaning, and not in any other. --Itaj Sherman (talk) 18:51, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just going ahead and removing this comment for now:
The name translates loosely as "friendly."Hebrew Names for Boys beginning with I - Naming a Jewish Baby.
Hebrew is my native language, and I also read much of the ancient language of the bible in school. This word has no meaning in hebrew, and doesn't even fit the language's constructs. The characters in the bible were not hebrew anyway, one mentioned to be from Gath (Philistine), so maybe it has some meaning in their language. If someone wants this comment here they should specify that better, and support it with something stronger than this link to that site, which seems generally very loose with the meanings stated for other names as well. --Itaj Sherman (talk) 15:10, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Does anybody really know where the hebrew name comes from? Is it from the Philistine language? Does it have any meanings in their language or any other language (supposedly indo-european)? --Itaj Sherman (talk) 01:06, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
