Seems a bit of an oversight that the article doesn't mention he was a Sunni Muslim anywhere? Could be mentioned before Hanafi for example.
" 1909 as a 'alim" Since 'alim starts with an a, perhaps "an" 'alim?
"to engage in jihad ("struggle")" Term is mentioned in the previous section, so should be explained at first occurrence. Also,l is explained again under "Organization of armed struggle", which should be redundant.
Some Islamic terms are explained, some are not, may be a good idea to read through the article and evaluate them one by one.
"According to Edmund Burke", "According to Shai Lachman", perhaps it would be nice to mention nationality and occupation of such authors, for context.
"cooperation increased after the 1929 riots" Could need a link.
"Following the October 1935 discovery" Easter egg links are discouraged.
"The manner of his last stand galvanized Palestinians at the time:" The following quote needs some sort of attribution.
"In the long ensuing firefight, al-Qassam and three of his followers were killed, and five captured." Perhaps the date should be mentioned in this sentence?
"Five months following the death of al-Qassam, members of his clandestine movement, known as "Qassamiyun"[9] or "Qassamites",[45] under the leadership of Farhan al-Sa'di, al-Qassam's spiritual heir, shot and killed two Jewish passengers of a bus traveling on the Tulkarm–Nablus road, a contributing factor to the start of the 1936–39 Arab revolt in Palestine.[45]" This sentence is very long and convoluted.
Under legacy there are some names of people that could need some presentation.
In one quote you use quotation marks, in another you don't.

Thanks for taking the time to review this article FunkMonk. I think I've addressed most of your points. I'm going to see if MoS Arabic says anything about transliterated Arabic words that start with "′a" because I'm not sure if using "an" would make sense here (it doesn't sound right orally speaking).
