Request to fix errors[edit]

{{request edit}}

Since this article was created in May—using a draft that I proposed on behalf of the institute's owner, Strayer University —a number of edits have been made that have introduced errors. I believe that the editor intended to make changes that they felt reduced "promotional" material in the draft and provided copy edits to the text. Additionally, another editor has added details of the institute's new dean. Unfortunately, these changes have led to some errors in formatting and grammar, as well as some factual errors. I saw that some of these issues were recently fixed, but a few remain, as I'll explain below. In the "History" section:

  • There is an extra period in the first sentence, before the first reference: "CEO Jack Welch in partnership with Chancellor University.[1], to create a business school"
  • Since the phrase originally in between the first two sentences has been removed, it is now redundant to begin the second sentence also with "The Jack Welch Management Institute".
  • At the beginning of "Acquisition by Strayer University" the sentence used to read "Seeking to expand operations, in April 2011 Welch approached Strayer University" but now reads "In April 2011 Welch moved the program to Strayer University". Per the sources in this section, the program was not moved until after Strayer formally acquired the institute in late 2011.
  • In the second sentence regarding the new dean, Daniel Szpiro, I think that "Szpiro had previous been" should read "Szpiro had previously been".
  • Also in that sentence, the two external links should be links to Wikipedia pages.

In the "Programs" section:

  • There is a missing "to" before "those" in the sentence "Welch expects the relatively low tuition and flexible schedule for the institute's MBA program will make the program attractive those currently employed"
  • At the end of the final sentence, you can see the reference appearing in the text due to a missing ref tag.

Because of my connection to the institute through my employer, I'd rather not make any changes addressing these issues myself. Please can another editor review the errors I've listed above and make the edits needed. Thanks, Hamilton83 (talk) 17:54, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's everything. SilverserenC 23:38, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Silverseren - Thanks so much for stopping by to make those changes. That was a huge help. Cheers, Hamilton83 —Preceding undated comment added 12:33, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Additions to the Wikipage of Jack Welch[edit]

Hello! My name is Alex and I am currently involved in a school project at Cornell University where we must edit a Wiki article with a group of students Kateheinle, Mzw3, Sjoo446, and myself. More information about the class as a whole can be found here. We had to choose a C-class level article and decided to choose Jack Welch. I just wanted to reach out to you because I will be editing and adding content some of which will have to do with The Jack Welch Management Institute Jack Welch. I Just wanted to reach out and hopefully we can get some good collaboration going between this wiki page and Jack Welch's. If you have time, please let me know what you think and if you have other ideas to improve the page overall. Thank you. The Da Crook (talk) 03:00, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
