Armada FC vs Armada U-23[edit]

The NASL was a Level II league. When it folded, shouldn't it's teams been shuffled in the Level III leagues? How did the Armada FC end up in Level IV? And if it was dropping down that low, then shouldn't their developmental team been bumped down to Level V? What sense does it make for them both to be in the NPSL? 2601:346:C201:60C0:31F5:6A45:6921:414D (talk) 18:39, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not entirely clear on what you are asking regarding the different levels or reshuffling. The United States soccer league system only has formal organization down to three levels, and at the time the NASL folded there was no third division league. All other leagues in the US (e.g. the NPSL) are only loosely organized and not governed by the USSF, so there isn't actually a formal fourth or fifth division like in countries that use promotion and relegation. Quick clarification here though: my understanding is that there was only one year where they were "both" playing in the NPSL, which was 2018, and that was a mix of players from their senior team and their youth team. They didn't actually field two teams, just one using the name "Jacksonville Armada". At the beginning of the 2019 season, the team just added "U-23" back to their name for the NPSL team without fielding a senior team. Hope that helps clear up some confusion.
