  • " 10 miles from" convert for our metric brothers and sisters.
  • "... products produced by free negro labor, eschewing products produced ..." 44% of this clause contains "produc"...
  • "graduated from the ICY on May 6, 1857; the class's lone graduate" why not "was his class's lone graduate from the ICY..; he earned..." (to avoid the repeate of "graduate").
  • "In 1858, accepted" missing a "he" or "White"...
  • Not sure a link to a common term such as "chess" is strictly needed.
  • Could add a thumb of Catto to embellish that portion of the article?
  • I would still consider de facto to be Latin enough to need italicising.
  • "the Philadelphia Inquirer " is actually "The Philadelphia Inquirer "

That's about it. An interesting article and very close in my opinion to already being GA standard, just a few comments above so on hold for now. The Rambling Man (talk) 11:19, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
