Did you know... that a French team created the Jahrhundertring (scene pictured) of Wagner's Ring Cycle at the centenary Bayreuth Festival in 1976, causing "a near-riot"?

I can't figure out what this lede sentence means:

The festival direction under Wolfgang Wagner won a French team of conductor Pierre Boulez, stage director Patrice Chéreau, stage designer Richard Peduzzi, costume designer Jacques Schmidt and lighting designer André Diot.

You're right, Phlar. We changed it in two places. W Wagner's article says he had total control of the Bayreuth Festival, so he chose all the players. --96.231.113.61 (talk) 21:52, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
