Neutrality[edit]

Large portions of this article was clearly written by somebody with very strong opinions against Jake White. The wording of the article is terrible in several places, resulting in some of the sentences not fitting into the context of the paragraphs in which they appear. 196.207.47.60 09:10, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with the above writer. Mentioning players such as Schalk Britz is not relevant when discussing a biography of Jake White. By all means mention that the SA nation is split over his selection policy but to emotively discuss the argument is not appropriate on wikipedia.

This brings me to a question on ettiquette. I am happy to 'neutralise' the article a bit but it would involve substantial rewrites. Should I discuss the rewrites on this Board first? Should I go ahead and do it? --Tiucsib 16:12, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no ongoing editing controversy with the article, so you can go ahead and edit the article without any problems. In general, the policy is to edit first and discuss later unless there's already an ongoing discussion about the edit/issue in question. There's no need to wait for everybody to give the go-ahead before making changes. Good luck! — Impi 19:55, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Will start editing soon. I am going to be busying myself with Gary, Teichmann, Henry Honiball and John Smit first. One other question. Can you recommend a rugby coach already on Wikipedia that I can use as a template for Jake White? The best I have found so far is Clive Woodward.--Tiucsib 06:15, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coaching clinic[edit]

I got the tail end of a interview with Jake White where they where talking about a coarse for coaches at school and Varsity level where can I find more details —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.167.199.27 (talk) 07:49, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

End of term as coach[edit]

The circumstances surrounding him leaving his position as coach aren't described but should be since there was a great deal of controversy e.g. [1] Nil Einne (talk) 01:53, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article improvements - general comments[edit]

I've started adding on recent history, since it only seemed to end shortly after 2007, which is now seven years ago! Also, a few general pointers:

  • There needs to be more sourcing / referencing of information
  • The style of writing for large chunks of White's Springbok career needs urgent polishing; and
  • A few additional photos of White would make the article a bit more visually appealing.

Just my two cents' worth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Kingjezza (talk) 22:10, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
