Factual accuracy[edit]

"He concluded by saying that any genuine diamonds had most likely been swallowed and excreted by wandering ostriches 'from a far off land'."

Wow! That obviously ridiculous statement has survived for nearly six months. A Google search for "James Gregory" mineralogist returns nothing but Wikipedia mirrors. Is this article completely nonsense? --Tantalum T e lluride 04:01, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the input. The statement about the ostriches sounded so ludicrous that I thought the article was a hoax, but the AfD discussion generated some references that prove the article is factual.
