There seem to be very few online sources for Mates' birthplace. Although a few state Bethnal Green apparently not from an earlier version here. Curiously there are no records at FreeBMD for any "James Mates" born in 1961. There are only three Mates births registered in 1961: Susan in March, Jacqueline in June, and then Stephen K in June, in Chichester: [1]86.187.162.192 (talk) 18:54, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
