His wife[edit]

The article claims, without documentation, that his wife was Elizabeth de Greystoke. His History of Parliament biography (http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1386-1421/member/pickering-sir-james-1398) actually says that his wife's identity is unknown. John Watson, on soc.genealogy.medieval (http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/GEN-MEDIEVAL/2013-02/1359862206), has shown that his wife was actually named Agnes, citing Final Concords For Lancashire, Part 3, 1377-1509 (originally published by Record Society of Lancashire and Cheshire, Edinburgh, 1905), pp., 19-43, viewable at http://www.british-history.ac.uk/lancs-final-concords/vol3/pp19-43 (search on "Pykeryng"). Elizabeth Greystoke (1265-1328) appears to have been his paternal grandmother, not his wife. pnh (talk) 17:44, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
