infobox[edit]

i'm trying to add an infobox into this article, but don't fully know how to do that so it shows the info i'm seeking to include. i copied over the infobox template from another musician, but want to add in that janel leppin is based in washington dc. ideally i'd also like to add a photo, but i can't find one that can be used (that hasn't yet been used). any help would be appreciated. Hi CanoeUnlined, it is better to obtain the infobox from the WikiProject Musicians page itself. That way it has no errors and has good instructions for format and use. Please click through the WikiProject Musicians link that I have added to the banner at the top of the page (This article is supported by WikiProject Musicians), Go to the section tab at the top for infoboxes. The first section there links to the actual template. Thanks, Fylbecatulous talk 11:48, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
thank you for fixing the infobox template and telling me how to do it, Fylbecatulous. my question about adding her current city still stands, though. in looking at a page like singer Bruno Mars, i see both a space for his birth location (listed under "born,") and a section called "residence" with his current city. how would i do that in this case? CanoeUnlined, a litttle trickier, but once you learn the format, editors do it all the time. There are two ways to do it but since you are looking at Bruno Mars article you first build infobox person (either copy the format from his or the instructions are also on the page for infobox musical artist). Then you embed the musical artist infobox for your other important fields. Each field has to be in the correct infobox or it won't show up and it creates errors. I would just copy over his and amend his data to match your artist. That would be the easiest. If you would like, please just place one of the images into her infobox from those that are already in her article.(Just the bare file name, then if you wish a caption it goes just beneath in the caption parameter). There do not seem to be others available, so probably the emsemble performance one would be the best style. Thanks, Fylbecatulous talk 13:46, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
i think i now got it. thanks for the help, Fylbecatulous. CanoeUnlined (talk) 19:48, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
