"written in the key of C minor." "the chorus in the notes Eb Bb Cm Ab (Abm) end with: Eb" This seems like an accurate representation of the chords in the chorus, and those chords all make sense in the context of C minor. But starting and ending on Eb, and looking at the rest of the progression, it seems more like the chorus is in Eb Major instead. I would change it myself, but I'm not that confident about my music theory knowledge, and I don't have access to the cited source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.44.24.236 (talk) 06:02, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's definitely Eb. Just because the first chord is Cm doesn't mean that the piece is in C minor. The chorus, as you say, is clearly Eb, the piece finishes on Eb, and Eb "feels" like the root all the way through. Sheet music is sometimes wrong. Cites are cites though. This alternative cites agrees that it is Eb: https://tunebat.com/Info/Jar-of-Hearts-Christina-Perri/0HZhYMZOcUzZKSFwPOti6m .

Re. excessive details[edit]

I tagged this page as being over-detailed after reading a segment of it, as I noticed there was a lot of emphasis placed on the particular chords and notes used in the song, more so than in other articles I've seen, which tend to just mention the key of the song and certain recurring themes, for example. The "reception" section contains an awful lot of quotes too, without much in between. I know it's difficult to write about the reception anything gets without quoting at least some reviews, but could we maybe do away with some of them? Perhaps instead of the excessive quotes, the overall impression conveyed by reviewers could be mentioned, or something along those lines.  dalahäst (talk) 07:49, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see nothing excessive here. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS may not be appropriately applied here. This article is decent for a B-class. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 14:00, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Covers and other trivial stuff[edit]

Hey everyone make sure you mention every single time for the rest of life on this planet that the song is played anywhere ever again. It's all equally notable, from kid's shows in the Netherlands to X Factor Saudi Arabia. Right? The casual reader will read every single line you write and it's totally not a waste of your time including trivia here.

"On November 2, 2011, the song was covered by Josh Krajcik, one of the live finalists on season 1 of The X Factor USA." NO ONE CARES!

"On The Voice Kids (Netherlands), Melissa Meewisse (2012) and Ayoub Maach (2014 winner) both covered this song" NO ONE CARES (except their parents)
