Does anyone know if Jared's mother Sharon is related to a Lucy Kammer?

• Ah, okay, thanks. I was just curious, because I know that Padalecki and his family are from San Antonio (as am I) and I had an English teacher in high school named Lucy Kammer. That's why, when I noted what Jared's mother's name was, my curiosity was piqued and I started to wonder if my old English teacher was a relative.

Heritage

Can somebody find out his heritage? It seems like his dad is Polish, judging from his last name, and the mother might be German.

Candid character

• Well as some of you viewers watcher the Ellen Degenere's Show, Ellen scooped some incidents regarding the incident at Jared's Flight of the Pheonix(FoP) sketch. Jared told her that he wasn't used driving to the roads that lead to the FoP filming scene.While he was driving he accidently went to the side of the road and the car came tumbling upside-down.

Jared's siblings

OK, I know there has been a lot of debate , but I can now say that it is Jared's brother who is a doctor. Jared mentions this in a TV interview with Ellen Degeneres. the interview Therefore, it must be his sister who is an architect. Just to clear up any confusion.

Height

There is no way Jared Padalecki is 6'5"... I have met him before and im 5'11" and he was barely like 1-2 inches taller then me.

• I always go with 6'4" for his height, actually, but that's beside the point. When did you meet him? If it was more than six or seven years ago, I might buy that, especially if he was slouching.   • On the CW, during a segment called "CWH" hosted by Mark McGrath, they had Padalecki and Justin Hartley play the video game Guitar Hero II. Image problem

In the past week or so, two images have been removed from this page. For the infobox, the rule now seems to be that if it's possible to take a photo of the actor and release it as a free image, then a fair use one can't be used. I personally feel that's a pretty high hurdle -how many Wikipedians have access to the actor for picture-taking? - but that's how things stand. On the image OrphanBot removed of the two Supernatural stars together, I have the impression that this can probably be restored if someone can tag the image's page as to where the picture came from and add a fair use rationale in the article. This shouldn't be too hard...I hope! Meanwhile I've added a screen capture of the actor in a less famous role, because it's sourced and I was able to provide the rationale. I hope that helps! Jared parent's names

Actual names are usually used here as opposed to nicknames, and Jerry and Sherri are clearly nicknames for their actual names, Gerald and Sharon, as listed in the source cited. However, a TV Guide bio does list the nicknames you mention, so it would be appropriate to add them to the acticle, as long as the full names are given as well. --Karen | Talk | contribs 02:55, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Religion

I seriously have to question the assertion that Padalecki is Catholic. There is no evidence outside MySpace and Facebook rumors. There is no proof he added the citation re religion. There was apparently no priest at his wedding, he had no Catholic schooling, nothing! Some solid proof would be nice, not just the fact that he has a Polish surname. While it's true that Poland is more than 90% Roman Catholic, that doesn't mean every American with a Polish surname is necessarily Catholic.

Also, as far as adding categories, aren't categories re religion supposed to be relevant to the person's life or career or actions. Padalecki is no James Caviezel or Mel Gibson. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 00:20, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Lucifer

I wish it didn't say that he plays Lucifer in Supernatural. First, that was only for a small number of episodes, so I wouldn't exactly make it a credit. Agreed. The current semi-protection of the talk page should be sufficient. However with over 600 teams involved in this GISHWHES thing full protection of the page itself should be kept in place for the duration as we only dealt with about a dozen or so users last night. After some correspondence with the GISHWHES team, this challenge has been replaced with one that does not involve Wikipedia. Though this might mean that unprotecting the page would be a safe choice, I have not done so because I'm not sure how far the GISHWHES folks have gone to inform participants of the change. In March 2015, Padalecki launched his Always Keep Fighting campaign through Represent.com. His first campaign raised funds for To Write Love On Her Arms, which supports people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. The cause is particularly close to Padalecki, who has been candid about his own struggles with depression. For the second campaign in the Always Keep Fighting series in April 2015, Padalecki partnered with co-star Jensen Ackles to release a shirt featuring both of their faces, to benefit their newly formed joint charitable fund. Over 70,000 shirts were sold. Most recently, Padalecki launched a third campaign selling a further 40,000 shirts.

During San Diego Comic-Con International 2015, more than 6,000 fans surprised Padalecki at the Supernatural panel by holding up candles for him, after having revealed his battle with depression earlier in the year.

I Chose Life: Stories of Suicide & Survival

In November 2015 Jared sat down with filmmaker, Jacqui Blue, and did an interview for her documentary addressing the suicide crisis. Jared and Jacqui were connected through Tracy Pellegrino, wife of Mark Pellegrino, who plays Lucifer on Supernatural. Tracy was directing a feature film that Jacqui was a production assistant on in March of 2015, the same month Jared launched his Always Keep Fighting campaign.
