The website

I don't think it is THE Jeff Daniels site —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ungu (talkcontribs) 13:41, 11 March 2007 (UTC).

Golden Syrup?

"He likes maple, but has a violent aversion to golden, syrup"

Surely vandalism, especially as Golden Syrup isn't sold in America.

Guv2006 (talk) 21:11, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

So fix it. As an aside, you do realize he's relatively rich and could travel - and possibly experience other cuisines. Of course, it doesn't matter as the information is uncited and should be removed. Tan | 39 21:14, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'm "relatively" rich, but when I venture overseas I tend to avoid foods to which I'm violently averse. Guv2006 (talk) 21:48, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

As he might, too. That was my point. Your first point seemed to say that since he's from the US, there's no way he could know whether or not he has any aversion to food normally sold in EU. Tan | 39 21:50, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

His teams

I tagged his being "not averse to" one but "not so keen on" another with {{Vague}}. Arguably, it should be {{Synth}}, because the two are juxtaposed in a way that ensures that the combination of their two vaguenesses guarantees that the "but" is a meaningless connection between them.
--Jerzyt 20:58, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Speaking of "vague"...

... when that accompanying articles describes MI's spokesman

promoting Michigan's effectiveness in bringing in new companies

what is meant? That would describe his appealing people to call their elected officials advocating more money to support the Economic Development Corporation, but it's too convoluted to describe what an EDC celebrity spokesman is more likely to do, urging companies to come for their own benefit. Give us access to what he said so we can change it. Did he describe that fact that companies without MI connections have moved there? Ones that opened new facilities there rather than expanding next to existing facilities? Companies seldom do either, just because others have done so, so it is unlikely he'd mention that without any hint of why. He might even hint at evidence that the state's earlier success doesn't mean that the early arrivals got all the goodies.

Removed non-notable facts

If he hosted SNL, we can consider whether that is notable or not in his case. What's stated here is non-notable:

Additionally, Daniels has appeared on SNL, in addition to a variety of television talk shows such as Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Colbert Report.

The following is not abt an ad for Cascade Engineering, but rather one for a state agency that mentions Cascade in promoting the availability of former automotive engineers.

Featured in an advert for Cascade Engineering. http://www.themedc.org/Products-Services/Upper-Hand-Business-Campaign/

BTW, it's not notable; his spokesperson role (mentioned elsewhere in the article) may be (and would be more so if -- as seems likely -- he does it for free or at scale).
--Jerzyt 02:49, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Birthplace confusion

The article says he was born in Georgia, then contradicts that in the following section referencing his company. Someone might want to fix that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.106.40.142 (talk) 07:02, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Image

Can anyone find a free image of this guy? I mean he is a very notable actor. Tinton5 (talk) 02:16, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Edit request on 17 December 2011

please change the template at to bottom of the article to {{Saturn Award for Best Actor 1974–1990}}, which is the specific year range in which the award was won. all other articles use the more specific templates. thank you. Frietjes (talk) 00:40, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Edit request on 16 January 2012

Okay, I have never done an edit request before, but I have noticed that there is no picture for Jeff Daniels. So, if you could, I have taken the liberty of copying the file name of a picture of Jeff Daniels from the page for the movie Dumb and Dumber. Here is the file:

Not done - As a non-free still image from Dumb and Dumber, it can be used to illustrate the film's article only, and cannot be used anywhere else. Sorry. —DoRD (talk) 17:51, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

The Newsroom

nothing on the upcoming HBO series this summer? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.214.250.194 (talk) 14:29, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Photo

A user believes that the main photo on this page is blurry, therefore removing the image entirely. I for one, do see a few blurs and it may not win Academy Award for best picture (rimshot), however, you can still see the actor's face clearly and it can be modified since it is under a free license. The blurs and distortions can be reduced tenfold, by using photoshop. Removing the photo altogether just seems unreasonable, since it has been very hard to find a free image of the actor in question. Tinton5 (talk) 00:54, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Now up for deletion? Didn't see that coming. Tinton5 (talk) 00:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Then how about it leaving it out of the project until you improve, as you put it, the "blurs and distortions"? If you insist on putting it back I'll get some more opinions on this through a notice board or RFC. --CutOffTies (talk) 02:25, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
True, but in the mean time, leave it as it is. If you want to see a terrible image, why don't you remove the photo on Elizabeth Gillies? Tinton5 (talk) 23:00, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
Once again, Tinton5 ignores a discussion and edit wars just to get his own way. The pic is out of the article pending the outcome of this discussion, and you will go to the edit warring notice board if necessary. Radiopathy •talk• 00:29, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Radiopathy, CutOffTies' reasoning for not keeping the photo is clearly ridiculous. The picture is fine, maybe a few blurs, but you can make out the face of the actor in question, plus has been photoshopped. I see you have not really considered my comments above. Tinton5 (talk) 02:05, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Tinton5, please settle down and wait for a consensus. Expressing an opinion on an article talk page is not "hounding". Cresix (talk) 02:36, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Well I'm cool with that. Tinton5 (talk) 03:27, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Tinton apparently improved the quality of the image [1]. I don't understand why tinton neglected to say anything here about improving it (and why tinton waited until now to make it presentable is beyond me as well). Anyway the new version of the image is fine with me. I'm not totally sure if the adaptation procedure was done correctly in commons though- I use derivativeFX which leaves a retouched picture message. --CutOffTies (talk) 10:24, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Link to Mama's Boy doesn't work

The current link to the film Mama's Boy doesn't work.

  • So, why didn't you fix it? -Hsxeric (talk) 9:20, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Updating Jeff Daniels photo on this page?

Can someone please update the photo to something like... oh idk, something that doesnt look like Jeff Daniels is dying or on drugs? lmao that picture is truly unflattering to him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.110.9.105 (talk) 23:32, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

Mistaken Identity

Jeff Daniels is often mistaken for Dave Coulier? This is useless information and should be removed unless Daniels or Coulier have made this comment. Citizenjamesford (talk) 20:33, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Whether it is useless is a matter of opinion, but this information actually is documented (briefly) here in an interview with Daniels: http://movies.about.com/od/becauseofwinndixie/a/winndixjd021205_3.htm He also gets confused with Jeff Bridges. I personally think it should be put back into the article. 68.127.209.95 (talk) 22:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

President McKinley also totally looks like Jeff Daniels

I removed this sentence from the article: " In 2002, Jeff Daniels book Driving Force: The Evolution of the Car Engine was published." This book is written by a different author with the same name.Ashenderflickin (talk) 12:56, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
