Curb weight[edit]

I believe this is incorrect.

Freight Load Capacity - 4000 LBS
Body Weight Allowance - 1200 LBS
Weight of Chassis ----- 6700 LBS
Total Weight Not Exceed - 11900 LBS

I figure 4000 pounds is the Payload, and the "curb weight" is 7,900 pounds.

The Jeep of WWII is 4WD with similar transfer case but with simple axles (not drop-gear), much lower curb and payload weight (a scout-car, not a medium truck).

The early UniMoog is similar to the Quad, with drop-gear axles, and weights just 15%-20% lower:
Empty weight: 2,900 kg (6,400 lb)
Cargo load: 1,500 kg (3,300 lb)
Gross weight: 4,400 kg (9,700 lb)

FWIW: The Whitney Mfg. Co. Hartford, Conn. claimed in an ad that they "furnished many thousands of chains" for the Quad's transfer case.
