Someone added a photo. It's hideous. lol. —Dudboi 15:56, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
I know but it will be deleted soon anyway as it doesn't meet wiki image standards, I'm working on it I'm just not sure what image would be acceptable, whatever image gets put up it will be more flattering and a little more recent, that one up is about 10 years old. Firelement85 12:00, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
I've changed it to the one of Dean for the mean time hopefully a different one can be put up.Firelement85 13:24, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Yep, article definitely needs more/better images, a main one in particular in the box. Tinkstar1985 13:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
We had one in there but someone recently has been citing a lot of images for deletion, saying that it wasn't proper fair use, it wasn't a free image or something, I'm keeping an eye on it, if the image is kept I'll put it back in there but the best thing we could hope for is for someone to take a photo of Jensen themselves and upload that as then there is no issue of copyright, it is a free image. Firelement85 13:23, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Um theres a link thats taking up a huge amount of space on the bio. I think its a mistake. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.240.182.21 (talk) 14:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Jensen's Personal Life

Gah... after Googling for "Wendy Auguste" and finding no hits, I can only conclude that some strange fan is trying to inject themselves into the article out of some weird fantasy to be with Jensen. Yeah, he's an attractive guy, but this is an encyclopedia article! Please stop messing with information on his past relationships unless you are expanding it based on verifiable information that you cite! This is not a gossip board for giggling school girls. - Debuskjt 01:53, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Debuskjt, who made you lord-overseer of Jensen Ackles?, would you stop changing and removing things simply because you don't know if the information is true, don't like a specific piece or whatever other reason you deem necessary. This page is open to everyone and therefore will be edited as such. - Naomi

It's not that simple. Wiki has a set of policies and guidelines in place that all editors should be following. Particularly WP:CITE, WP:NOR, WP:VERIFY, and WP:VANITY, in this instance:
  • If you add any information to an article, particularly if it's contentious or likely to be challenged, you should supply a source. If you don't know how to format the citation, others will fix it for you. Simply provide any information you can.
  • In general, even if you are writing from memory, you should actively search for authoritative references to cite. If you are writing from your own knowledge, then you should know enough to identify good references that the reader can consult on the subject—you will not be around forever to answer questions.
  • The burden of evidence lies with the editors who have made an edit or wish an edit to remain. Editors should therefore provide references... Any edit lacking a source may be removed.
  • Even in the cases of decidedly famous people, these people's unrealized aspirations, thoughts, and hobbies are seldom included in Wikipedia, unless they are directly salient, and, more importantly, verifiable.
I understand that fans really like to know a lot about the personal lives of celebrities, but tabloid gossip isn't encyclopedic. That includes former girlfriends and one time dates. If you feel like a relationship is important enough to merit inclusion here, add it, but obviously when the only thing anyone has to say is that Jensen dated some actress—and that is it—it's not very important. If you don't like that, well... I'm sorry. But I'm not going to back away from an article that needs work and I'm not going to change edit habits that are not in violation of Wiki policy (in fact, I'd say WP:BOLD supports it) to satisfy someone else's appetite for fancruft. - Debuskjt 13:32, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
To add, if you want to discuss why something in particular that I removed should be added back, and you have a reliable source for it, I'm more than willing to discuss it. I actually think the Joanna Krupa information is probably notable enough for inclusion because of its length if there's more information out there beyond "they dated." But since I'm the one who actually cited that relationship and I couldn't find anything substantial about it when I searched, I don't really feel it's out of line for me to remove it. - Debuskjt 14:00, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Rewrite of most of the Bio

Tonight I stumbled across the IMDB.com biography of Ackles. To my horror, I realized that the original biography here had been a word for word copy of the IMDB biography without permission, a clear violation of WP:COPY. Luckily, through a lot of hard work by previous editors, some of the biography was significantly changed, but a lot of the verbage was still mirror image. I went through and reworked the bio so the rest of the copyright violations were gone. I wanted to explain myself here, though, because to anyone just looking at the diff of the last edit would think "WTF? Why would you rework the whole biography without reason?" - Debuskjt 02:04, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Language

Is there a reason why the first paragraph reads

He is most known for his television roles as Eric Brady in Days of Our Lives, Jason Teague in Smallville, and, most recently, Dean Winchester on the CW series Supernatural.

Why is it that Eric Brady and Jason Teague are in DoOL and Smallville, but Dean Winchester is on Supernatural? I mean they both kinda make sense, but is there a reason why they're different? —Dudboi 14:02, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

picture

oops, sorry for the other comment in slang anyway, whats up with the picture? im sure there was a more recnt one there before that ones like VERY old, when he was in DOOL if that —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.136.52.129 (talk) 16:52, 7 December 2006 (UTC).

Personal Life

I removed the statement 'He has a wife, Samantha Seal.' I checked multiple fan-sites, IMBD, and CW.com, no mention of him ever getting married. I found one reference to a past girlfriend, Joanna Krupa, and that was here and not included in the article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Steveo9009 (talkcontribs) 08:06, 18 December 2006 (UTC).

Male Model?

From the intro section - "is an American actor and former male fashion model."

Is male fashion model the best term to use? I'm unaware of him doing any modeling as an adult, which is what I assume when I read that (kind of implies catwalk-type modeling, and also that that's something he was actually known for, like say, Tom Welling), so perhaps child model would be a better?

I'm a newbie though, so I don't want to change it myself.

-- Cocombat

  • I'm kind of wondering why he is labeled as a "former child fashion model" in his main summary, since none of his work as a model is even remotely notable. I was under the impression he only did a few scattered shoots in his teens, nothing major. I imagine it's something he'd like to forget, and since the modeling is already mentioned further down in the more detailed biography, I'd like to remove it from the summary. Agree/disagree? —simpatico talk 10:49, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
You have my vote Simpatico. Tinkstar1985 01:27, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Tru Calling?

"Ackles was the producer's first choice to play Eliza Dushku's love interest on the second season of Tru Calling,[10] but Ackles returned to Vancouver (where Dark Angel was filmed) in 2004 to become a regular on Smallville..."

Both Tru Calling and Smallville were both filmed in Vancouver at the same time. Akward wording makes it look like...well something else. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pureaddiction (talkcontribs) 02:29, 14 March 2007 (UTC).

Education

The article states, "He graduated from Dartmouth Elementary School in 1990, Apollo Junior High School in 1993, and Lloyd V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas in 1996." This information is uncited. I tried to add a reference but ended up pointing to a site which contained an earlier copy of this article. Oops!

My question is, if no one provides an appropriate reference, how long do we allow the information to remain before it is deleted? --Wordbuilder 17:05, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

  • That was me that deleted it, thanks for not being a bitch about it, really it should be deleted straight away but something like that it can be hard to reference, I think though that there may be something on one of the fan sites but I don't have the time to go looking now in fact I have to leave now. Firelement85 06:59, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I saw a lot of fan site references concerning attendance at those schools but had no idea where they were getting their information (from this article as far as I know) so I skipped them. I'd like to find it mentioned in a bio at a more official site. Thanks for the reply and for keeping the article strong. --Wordbuilder 13:26, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

thanks to whoever cleaned the pictures and quality of the article up cool job!

Trying to add a line which someone keeps deleting

hello

i'm trying to add a line about Jensen dating Danneel Harris (which is true!), but someone else keeps deleting it. Than when I add it again, they delete it again. Now there's a sort of "warning" on my screen that it isn't a good add... this is not my fault, i'm meerly trying to add more information... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.83.47.134 (talk) 18:27, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

It is being deleted for stylistic reasons - see WP:TRIVIA - the information maybe pertinent, but it needs to be placed in the article in a different manner, not under the heading "Trivia". You may remove the warning from your talk page if you understand and acknowledge it. Cheers, and carry on. Wisdom89 (talk) 19:45, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Engagement to Danneel Harris

Hiya, there's no mention of his relationship with Danneel- despite being previously written- and no mention of his engagement either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.110.239.7 (talk) 23:19, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

It was removed recently (not by me) as the source cited was not considered sufficiently reliable. [1]. Cassandra 73 (talk) 23:26, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
There now appear to be an number of sources indicating the truth of this. If anyone wants to add them, they can start here. --Ebyabe (talk) 18:37, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
  • According to the subject, this is inaccurate. Apparently for some reason Harris is claiming a marriage which does not in fact exist. This has been flagged up via VRTS ticket # 2010111910015801. The sources are tattle and not terribly depednable so we should err on the side of caution and keep this out of the article until we have much better and more comprehensive sources. Guy (Help!) 15:31, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
  • Update: a source as hopeless as the source suggesting marriage: Danneel Harris arrested. Guy (Help!) 17:49, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
  • That's a site that scrapes other sites, it got that from a blog (page 2 links directly to the blog). Seems there are a lot of blog postings around saying the same thing. January (talk) 20:47, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
    • I got another OTRS request on this tonight. I've taken all family info off the page until things settle out. The "arrested" posts have some serious credibility issues. Jclemens (talk) 06:49, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Someone calling themselves Stephanie has been claiming across the internet, including here, to be Ackles' 'real' wife for some time now, and the blog posts all relate to that claim. January (talk) 07:02, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
At Talk:Danneel Harris, someone's come up with a link to the record of the marriage at the Dallas County Clerk's Office. I believe it is acceptable per WP:BLPPRIMARY to use public records to augment what has been published in a secondary source. January (talk) 12:19, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, those are the puzzle pieces I was looking for. I've put the line back in and added some comments about the situation. Jclemens (talk) 15:28, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

But what's the final thing, are they or aren't they married? because both the pages state they are married to each other. Nasirakd (talk) 20:09, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes, they're definitely married. The person who e-mailed in claiming to be Ackles was a hoaxer, the story about Harris being arrested is part of the same hoax. January (talk) 20:32, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Google images of the two of them together--there are plenty, from all the celebrity places. Follow them, and they've got accompanying captions denoting the marriage. There's definitely a stalker here... but it's the one who's claiming the marriage is fake. Jclemens (talk) 21:00, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Is the Discography notable enough to include?...

I vote "no" – I think the 'Discography' section should be removed: Ackles has no notability as a singer. (And note that the section is currently unsourced.) --IJBall (contribstalk) 05:30, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

I agree. He can sing, but it's not what he is known for. What's listed does not appear notable anyway, and that it's all unsourced does not help either. --Ebyabe talk - Repel All Boarders ‖ 06:31, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

I think a discography should be added . Mr Jensen ackles has founded a music company called radio company and as released his first single called sounds of someday . A complete CD/album is going to be released nex year. Hes also been apart of singing a few cover songs for released albums like the Jason manns cover with friends album . Discography should be added since his debut album came out today and is currently on no. 2 on iTunes. [1]— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lolay1 (talkcontribs) 18:30, November 8, 2019 (UTC)

Made new pages for Radio Company and its albums, but perhaps should also be included in a discography section since he is the co-writer on all songs and performer on most. Anonymouspersonwhoisaddictedtotv (talk) 04:04, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
