Source of Jerry Cornelius?[edit]

It seems fairly likely......Jerry Cornelius is an amoral often ruthlessly violent and always anti-authoritarian character in the speculative fiction of Michael Moorcock. I would guess that Jeronimus inspired him, I wonder if it is documented anywhere?Jeremy (talk) 01:40, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not really...it's more likely it is just a co-incidence. Moorcock's JC first appeared in 1968, while the Batavia story wasn’t well-known outside Australia until (at a guess) the 90’s, when the Prospero documentary was shown on British TV (which was the first time I heard about it). Names[edit]

Are Cornelisz and Jacobsz abbreviations of Corneliszoon and Jacobszoon respectively? Hairy Dude (talk) 14:42, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Late reply, but yes I believe they are. Patronymics were used since surnames were lacking at the time, and for convenience sake they are generally abbreviated. Viralworld (talk) 22:29, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
