Jerome/Jerry[edit]

BTW, I remember from my childhood that in the Siegel & Shuster byeline (which I took to be a convention, or courtesy to the series creators; it may have been more precise than I knew), he was sometimes Jerome as well as sometimes Jerry. That I remember correctly is proved by the fact that I have never seen his full first name since, until I read this article.

Induction into Halls of Fame[edit]

I'm not sure what the text said when this was first brought up, but looking at the current article it is somewhat confusing, but the "posthumously" applies specifically to Shuster. I'm not sure how to phrase it to make it clearer, though.--Khajidha (talk) 19:11, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Today's edits[edit]

Now that I have gone through the incredible number of edits made by User:Kurzon over the past several days, addressing primarily uncited claims, POV conclusions and non-encyclopedic WP:TONE, as well as minor MOS issues and — again as last year — his desire to put two spaces after sentences, which we don't do. With these very specific edits reverted, I ask that Kurzon not revert back nd edit-war but, per WP:BRD, bring his concerns to this talk page.

Also, though I have not the time to work on this now, prose is preferred to mid-prose lists, and stub sections should be merged under larger organizational points.--Tenebrae (talk) 21:19, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We've already had one admin say that this WP:SPS is non-RS. And you're defiantly trying to include it again. Do we need to bring him back into this discussion? Me being an admin doesn't give me any greater clout than other editors in disputes about the reliability of sources. That said, I stand by my comments in the previous discussion about the book: It's self-published, not subject to any editorial oversight (and contrary to what Kurzon says, reputable publishers do have an editorial staff that reviews manuscripts submitted for publication), not a reliable source. I should have specified that I mentioned you were an admin solely to note that Kurtzon's behavior upon his return from a year's block has been noted by an admin, and that repeatedly using a non-WP:RS source is not the kind of thing admins, who can block him again, look upon kindly. That would be OR, and in addition, without any other historian whatsoever verifying these purported letters, there is no way to know they're real and not fakes. Unknown Siegel and Shuster letters suddenly materializing after 80 years and not attracting the attention of the press and comics historians? I found a court document that listed the earnings of Siegel and Shuster between 1937 and 1947. It corroborates Agostino's book. I couldn't find anything in the court records giving the average pay for a DC employee. I can cite a court document, can't I? This all comes down to authenticity, right? Work in British Comics[edit]

Unfortunately I don't know the details, but it seems strange there is not even a mention of his working for British Comics such as Lion in the 60's. This is referenced in the article on The Spider but not even mentioned here.

We may need to up-date the current equivalency of some figures[edit]
