"He has one son Jacob, and two daughters, Thomas and James". Since when are Thomas and James girl names? 87.208.140.164 (talk) 21:07, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jerry ought to continue to be on wikipedia, but the article should be changed to focus on his stuff as an academic. Per wiki policies, Zandstra is notable because of the numerous articles he has published (many more than the average college professor) and the fact that he is an international lecturer and policy expert. If you think that the article should stay in wikipedia, you should delete the notice of proposed deletion from the article itself. As the notice says, if no one does that, the article can be deleted without further discussion.
For what it's worth, when I did a google search, virtually all of the top 200 or so results seemed to be about him running as a candidate. John Broughton 13:09, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you think that he meets WP:PROF you are free to write an article. The current version states that he has published numerous articles in newspapers, not the kind of article that meets WP:PROF. JChap (talkcontribs) 22:13, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
note I am not 100% on Wiki-rules, but he is well known as a Director of the Acton Institute, a fairly well-known think tank 66.72.215.225 14:52, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to this page, he is a senior fellow, not a director. [1]. I don't think we have articles about anyone else connected to the Acton Institute except its president. -Will Beback 16:47, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are 25,000 google hits that come up for "Jerry Zandstra" (putting the term in quotes). There are an additional 500 under "Gerald Zandstra." While this may not be a solid wiki criteria, it is clear that he is somebody of note.Jcmiller 19:39, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zandstra is in the news again right now for the pro-life federation. This volume of websites, presence in news articles, and articles he has published makes him wiki-worthy: http://www.casperstartribune.com/articles/2006/09/07/news/wyoming/04ad152a4da6068b872571e1007f4bf6.txt Jcmiller 17:16, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
