Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo[edit]

The tile Jetsunma is well published and recognized for Ahkon Lhamo. I appreciate your point as to it's origin from her students, however it's not sufficient to exclude from this list. Frankly you are coatracking a point here that should you have described in the subject article. Zulu Papa 5 (talk) 13:34, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This [1] [2] is annoying and disruptive. The title is a commonly known and was selected by the students, as Longchenpa sources. It belongs here. Let's go for an TPC or RFC, about this. Zulu Papa 5 (talk) 01:12, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's well-established that her students gave her the title, not the lineage. Longchenpa (talk) 04:53, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is a redirect page for tites. This inclusion is within Wiki standards. You a pushing a single POV by removing. No mater who appointed the title, is a well established title. To me, a student's given title caries greater weight than an appointed title, like an election over an appointed official. Zulu Papa 5 (talk)
It's in The Buddha From Brooklyn, page 150. Her students gave her the title, picking it out of a book with no knowledge of what it meant. Longchenpa (talk) 22:38, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If it's her title, as you say and is well know, why do you not want it included here? I feel like you are being disruptive to make a point. Let alone, uncompromising to properly attribute the source. Help me see your reason for removing. Zulu Papa 5 (talk) 01:06, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Students cannot give Tibetan titles to tulkus, Khenpos, or Jetsuns. These are official titles within Tibetan Buddhism. Students do have discretion with westernized titles such as "venerable" and "His Holiness" which have no direct Tibetan tradition. She is not a Jetsunma in the Tibetan lineage, as students involved in giving that title have readily admitted. Longchenpa (talk) 01:39, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're off-base, the article is not about "official titles" is a redirect / disambiguation. You are being disruptive to synthesize a point from original research. WP:POINT and WP:SYN. The title is well known, can you accept this? WP:D and WP:R for Other Names. Please revert your edit. Zulu Papa 5 (talk) 02:15, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The article is about the title Jetsun and should only have those who've been correctly given the title, rather than those who've so anointed themselves or those whose students have given them the title. Otherwise it will be inaccurate. And please stop wikilawyering. Longchenpa (talk) 02:28, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Read WP:WL and be serious. I may have no choice but to ask for TPC or RFC help here, you seem to be unreasonable when perhaps caught in a corner. No one will look down on you for admitting an error. I may even redeem your image. It's plain to anyone what this article is for and what you are working to accomplish. Zulu Papa 5 (talk) 02:50, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
More accusations from you? Should I start keeping a list? My favorite is still the one where you accused me of only editing JAL's page, and then when proved wrong, accused me of boasting. Stop with the wikilawyering. You can't ask for an RfC every time you disagree with someone.
I wrote most of this page. The reason why I wrote it is because I know the language, I know the Tibetan tradition, and I know what the title means. A few months ago someone had to explain to you what a Wang is, ZuluPapa. That's Tibetan Buddhism 101. You are not knowledgeable in this area. JAL's own teacher, Penor Rinpoche, laughed when he heard she was calling herself Jetsunma and asked, "How did she get that title?" Longchenpa (talk) 11:07, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate what you wrote. RFC's are for content issues when an editor won't "know the policies" Zulu Papa 5 (talk) 13:46, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I should probably look for more Jetsunmas for the page (there's a Sakya one missing, I believe), but the title is not common because it usually denotes great learning in Buddhism. The inequity in education between men and women has prevented most women from getting that far. Regarding wikilawyering: spraying policy misses the point. The point is to focus on the content of the article. Longchenpa (talk) 21:21, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. This article is serving multiple purposes. Searching for other Jetsunma's would be good, but really how can you be sure the title was not given by students? (Smile) 13:57, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Regarding WP:WL please continue to education me when I miss the point. I want to abide the policies, many overlap, and I am getting a better handle on them. I really am not trying to make obtuse or deceptive arguments or even to ignore them when its convent to fork a point (ie. FI) (smile). Zulu Papa 5 (talk) 14:02, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jetsun Milarepa[edit]

If I understand this section of the article, this is a list of women who are called by the title Jetsunma. If I have the correct understanding, then Jetsun Milarepa does not belong on this list. Any thoughts or suggestions? AD64 (talk) 16:07, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
