Is Clifton paranoid?[edit]

Clifton published an op-ed in the WSJ(??) in early February 2015 where he called the official government unemployment rate "the big lie." His point was essentially that the figure fails to capture the full picture of what he sees as a nation full of discouraged middle-class job seekers. (It's unclear why he chose to critique the rate at that moment, since the government wasn't using a new way of measuring the labor economy, except if he wanted to undercut Obama administration State of the Union claims about the recovery from the 2008 severe recession.)

Soon after writing this and having it amplified in a FOX News interview, he was quoted in various right-wing media to say that the rate was, after all, "actually extremely accurate." He then strongly implied that he was afraid for his life after having accused the government of lying.

I also notice that his personal life section on Wikipedia is a brief one sentence. I would think the CEO of the nation's most prominent polling organization would merit much more coverage. I wonder if someone scrubbed his bio for a reason, either real or imagined.

Removing BLP sources?[edit]

This page was tagged in April 2015 as BLP requiring sources. In November 2018 I read this page and did not feel sources were lacking nor insubstantial. I would advocate removing the maintenance template as there are are currently 10 references for a 5k article, and every (very short) section has at least one reference. Although some sources include interested companies, there are also references from NYT, Forbes and US universities. I welcome comments Artemgy (talk) 19:43, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
